Short, direct answers about how Socialync works. Every number on these pages is the one the product enforces, and each page shows when it was last checked.
Getting started
What Socialync is and how a post goes out.
- What Socialync is and how a post goes out
Socialync is a social media scheduler and cross-posting tool. You upload one video, one image set, or one caption, adjust it per platform if you want, and publish or schedule it to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Threads, and Bluesky in one step. One publish counts as one post no matter how many platforms it reaches.
Connecting platforms
What each platform needs before it will accept a post.
- Which platforms Socialync supports
Socialync posts to 8 platforms: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Threads, and Bluesky. The free plan connects 7 of them (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, and Bluesky); X is on paid plans. Every platform takes video except where noted below, and text-only posts work on the platforms whose APIs allow a post without media.
- Connecting Instagram
Instagram accepts posts from third-party apps only on professional accounts, so your Instagram must be a Business or Creator account. Switch in the Instagram app under Settings, Account type and tools, then connect it in Socialync. You can connect with your Instagram login, or through a Facebook Page the account is linked to.
- Connecting Facebook
Socialync posts to Facebook Pages. To connect, you need a Page you manage; a personal profile, including a profile in professional mode or labelled digital creator, is not a Page and has no publishing access through Meta’s API. If connecting ends with a message about permissions even though you granted them all, the cause is almost always that no Page was found.
- Connecting TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X
TikTok connects with a personal or Business account. YouTube needs a channel on the Google account you sign in with. LinkedIn connects a personal profile or a Company Page. X is available on paid plans. Threads connects on its own, separately from Instagram. Bluesky uses an app password rather than a login.
Publishing and scheduling
Captions, limits, timing, and first comments.
- How cross-posting works
You create one post and Socialync sends it to every platform you selected, through each platform’s official API, at the same time or at the scheduled time. Each platform can get its own caption, hashtags, title, first comment, and settings. One publish counts as one post toward your monthly allowance regardless of how many platforms it reaches.
- Scheduling posts
The free plan schedules up to 2 months ahead; every paid plan schedules up to 12 months ahead. Times are set in your own timezone. The composer pre-fills a sensible slot (the next open time at 9am, noon, 3pm, 6pm that is at least 90 minutes from your other scheduled posts, up to 4 a day), and you can change it to anything.
- Caption and media limits per platform
Captions: X 280 characters, Threads 500, Bluesky 300, Instagram and TikTok 2,200, LinkedIn 3,000, YouTube descriptions 5,000, Facebook 8,000. Video in the web composer is currently accepted up to 3 minutes and 4 GB. Instagram Reels must be 3 to 90 seconds through the API. Recommended export: MP4, H.264 video, AAC audio.
Plans and billing
The free plan, paid plans, trial, changes, and cancelling.
- What the free plan includes
The free plan costs $0 and needs no credit card. It includes 5 posts a calendar month, refreshed on the 1st, on 7 platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, and Bluesky), up to 5 connected accounts, 1 brand, scheduling 2 months ahead, and MCP and API access. One publish counts as one post however many platforms it reaches.
- Pricing and plans explained
There is a free plan and three paid plans with identical features that differ only by connected accounts: Starter at $20 a month for 5 connected accounts, Creator at $30 a month for 10 connected accounts, Agency at $99 a month for 100 connected accounts. Every paid plan has unlimited posts, unlimited brands, scheduling 12 months ahead, and MCP and API access. Yearly billing is three months free, so Starter is $15 a month billed yearly.
- How the free trial works
Paid plans offer a 7-day free trial on monthly billing. You opt in at checkout, a card is required, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. We email you three days before it ends, and you can cancel any time before then at no cost. Signing up for Socialync never starts a trial; the free plan is separate and needs no card.
- Changing, cancelling, and refunds
You can change your account count or seats at any time from Settings, prorated immediately, and cancel at any time with no contract or fee. After cancelling, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, scheduled posts through that date still publish, and nothing is deleted. There is no money-back guarantee; payments are non-refundable except where the law requires it.
AI assistants and MCP
Posting from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP client.
- Posting from Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor
Socialync has an MCP server, included on every plan, that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP client draft, schedule, and publish through your connected accounts. Add https://mcp.socialync.io/mcp as a connector; the client opens a browser, you sign in, and you choose which brands it may manage. Nothing publishes until you confirm in chat or approve the draft in the app.
Troubleshooting
Uploads that stall, posts that fail, connections that expire.
- Uploads that stall and posts that fail
An upload bar frozen at 0 percent with no error almost always means a browser extension or network filter is blocking the upload: turn off the ad blocker for socialync.io or retry in a private window, and try a different network if you are on an office or school connection. A post that fails on one platform is saved as a draft with its media so you can retry that platform only.
Account, brands, and teams
Brands, collaborators, comments, analytics, and deleting your account.
- Brands, teams, and collaborators
A brand is a separate workspace with its own connected accounts, calendar, and drafts, for a client or a second project. The free plan has 1 brand; paid plans have unlimited brands. Collaborators are invited by email as editors or viewers on one or several brands; the first seat is free and each additional collaborator is $10 a month.
- Comments inbox and analytics
Paid plans include a comments inbox that reads and replies to comments on Instagram, Threads, X, YouTube, Bluesky, and LinkedIn from one place, and cross-platform analytics with top posts and period-over-period changes. TikTok and Facebook comments are not available: TikTok only offers comment management through its business advertising API, which Socialync does not use.
- Deleting your account and data
Delete your account yourself from Settings: the Delete Account button removes your profile, brands, connected accounts and their access tokens, scheduled and completed posts, drafts, media, API keys, and notifications. Records we are legally required to keep, such as abuse reports and enforcement logs, are retained. Subscriptions bought in the App Store or Google Play must be cancelled there.
