TikTok Spark Ads
Run TikTok Spark Ads from real creators' posts
Spark Ads are TikTok's format for running an organic post as a paid ad. The creator authorizes their post with a code, your ad runs under their handle, and the engagement it earns lands on their real post. You keep the budget and the targeting in your own TikTok ad account.
What TikTok Spark Ads are
A Spark Ad is a TikTok post that already lives on an account, promoted with ad budget. TikTok's help center says Spark Ads use posts from organic accounts so that every view, comment, share, like and follow the promotion earns is credited to the original post. The rules that matter before you brief a creator:
The post can be your brand's own TikTok or a creator's, with the creator's authorization.
TikTok: About Spark AdsThe caption cannot be edited once the post is authorized as an ad, so it has to be final before the code goes out.
TikTok: Creating Spark AdsA private video becomes public once a campaign uses it, and stays public while it is promoted.
TikTok: Creating Spark AdsVideos up to 10 minutes long can be sparked, and one TikTok ad account holds up to 10,000 Spark Ads.

How Spark Ads work with a creator
Four steps, from TikTok's guide to creating Spark Ads.
1. The creator posts
The video goes up on the creator's own TikTok first. A Spark Ads code always points at a live post.
2. The creator generates a code
The creator first allows authorized posts under Settings and privacy, Privacy. Then, in the TikTok app: open the post, tap the three dots, then Ad settings. Agree to the Advertising Content Terms, turn on Ad authorization, pick 7, 30, 60 or 365 days, then Generate and Copy code.
3. The code reaches your ad account
In TikTok Ads Manager it goes in under Tools, Creative library, Spark ads posts, Apply for authorization. TikTok takes up to 20 codes at a time. A Duet or Stitch needs a code from both creators.
4. You fund and run the ad
You pick the objective, the budget and the audience in your own ad account. The ad shows the creator's name and photo, and a tap on either opens their profile.
What TikTok reports about Spark Ads
TikTok's own numbers, with the dates TikTok gives them.
134%
higher completion rate for Spark Ads than for standard In-Feed Ads, with a 157% higher 6-second view-through rate, in TikTok A/B tests.
TikTok for Business, Spark Ads 101 (2022 test data)43%
higher conversion rate for Spark Ads than non-Spark Ads in TikTok's video shopping ads, with completion rate up 30% and CPM down 4%.
TikTok Business Help Center, updated March 202659%
higher engagement rate on TikTok ads posted to a creator's account than on ads run from other accounts, plus a 16% higher six-second view-through rate.
TikTok for Business, Nov 202570%
higher click through rate for creator ads than for non-creator ads at the same CPM, and a 159% higher engagement rate.
TikTok for Business, Nov 2025Uncapped commission, no base payment
The creator earns a commission on what the Spark Ad does. There is no base payment at delivery. Pick the goal the commission pays on. TikTok campaigns take the first two:
Sell
1% to 50% of the sales TikTok attributes to the ad, or a set amount per sale.
Get seen
A set amount per 1,000 views of the ad.
Leads and clicks
Campaigns that run only on Instagram and Facebook. TikTok does not report leads or clicks for commission.
The licence is the only clock: 12 months by default, anywhere from 1 to 120 months, or perpetual if you choose it. TikTok's longest code runs 365 days, so a licence past a year needs a fresh authorization from the creator when the first one lapses.
Free to post the campaign. No plan, no subscription.
What Spark Ads cost
Three lines, paid to three different parties.
Ad spend
Yours, set and billed in your own TikTok ad account. It never passes through Socialync. TikTok's minimum daily budget is above $50 per campaign and above $20 per ad group.
TikTok budget rules, updated July 2026The creator
Commission on results, with no base at delivery. You pay the creator directly: US creators through Stripe on the Socialync pay page, everyone else straight from you while Socialync verifies the delivery. Socialync takes nothing from creator pay.
Socialync
Free to post the campaign. 1.5% of attributed sales when the commission pays on sales, or 1.25% of ad spend when it pays on views. One rate per campaign, billed monthly. No plan, no subscription.
Sales example. The creator earns 10% of attributed sales. TikTok attributes $8,000 in sales to the Spark Ad in a month. The creator's commission is $800 and the Socialync fee is $120, which is 1.5% of $8,000. TikTok bills the ad spend to you separately.
Views example. The creator earns a set amount per 1,000 views and you spend $2,000 on the ad in a month. The Socialync fee is $25, which is 1.25% of $2,000.
The full fee breakdown for every deal type is on the brand pricing page.
What creators charge for a Spark Ads code
Published rate guides price it two ways. PitchBrand's October 2026 guide prices paid social ads at 20% to 30% of the creator's base rate for every month the ad runs. On a $400 video, a 90 day ad flight adds $240 to $360 at that rate. Fueler's April 2026 breakdown reports Spark Ads access as a monthly fee of $100 to $500. Both are what others report, and the creator sets the final number.
On the board, ad access pays as commission on the sales or views the ad earns, with no base at delivery, so the creator earns more when the ad does more. Price the licence length too: TikTok's longest code runs 365 days. The math for both models is in what brands pay creators for ad access, and the UGC rate calculator puts a range on a specific post before you write the listing.
Spark Ads vs Meta partnership ads
Same deal, two platforms. The differences sit in how the creator grants permission.
| Compared | TikTok Spark Ads | Meta partnership ads |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | TikTok | Instagram and Facebook |
| How the creator grants it | A code for one post, from that post’s Ad settings, valid 7, 30, 60 or 365 days | Per post, or across the whole account, through Meta’s partnership ad permissions |

| Commission goals on Socialync | Sell, Get seen | Sell, Get leads, Send clicks, Get seen |
| Results come from | TikTok’s reporting through your TikTok pixel | Meta’s attribution through your Meta pixel |
| Launch from Socialync | Into your own TikTok ad account | Into your own Meta ad account |

Spark Ads vs regular in-feed ads
A non-Spark ad is a video you upload to Ads Manager. A Spark Ad is a post that already lives on a real account. TikTok lists what that changes for the viewer and in your reporting.
| Compared | Spark Ads | Non-Spark in-feed ads |
|---|---|---|
| Taps on the name or photo, or a swipe left | Open the account’s profile, and the + follows it | Open your landing page |
| Likes, comments, shares and follows | Count on the organic post and stay after the campaign ends | Stay on the ad and end with the campaign |
| Caption and display name | Taken from the post and locked once it is authorized | Written when you build the ad |
| Paid metrics TikTok lists | Paid followers, paid profile visits, music clicks and anchor clicks, on top of paid clicks, likes, shares and comments | Paid clicks, likes, shares and comments |

Questions brands ask about Spark Ads
What are TikTok Spark Ads?
Spark Ads are TikTok's ad format for promoting an organic post, your own or a creator's, with ad budget. The ad runs under the account that posted it, and the views, comments, shares, likes and follows it earns count on that original post.
What is a Spark Ads code and how long does it last?
It is an authorization code for one TikTok post. The creator generates it in the post's Ad settings and picks 7, 30, 60 or 365 days. Each post needs its own code.
How much do Spark Ads cost?
Three costs. Ad spend, which you set in your own TikTok ad account (TikTok requires more than $50 a day per campaign and more than $20 a day per ad group). The creator, as commission on results. And on the Socialync job board, 1.5% of attributed sales or 1.25% of ad spend, one rate per campaign.
Are Spark Ads worth it?
TikTok's 2022 A/B tests found a 134% higher completion rate for Spark Ads than for standard In-Feed Ads. Whether they pay for your product shows up in your own pixel data, so every ads campaign on the board needs the TikTok pixel on your ad account before it publishes.
Is a Spark Ad the same as whitelisting?
Whitelisting is the older industry term for running ads from a creator's identity. On TikTok that now works through a Spark Ads code: the creator authorizes one post and your ad runs under their handle. On the Socialync job board, TikTok Spark Ads and Meta partnership ads both sit under the Whitelisting deal.
Do I need the creator's TikTok login?
No. The creator authorizes one post with a code from the TikTok app. You never hold their password, and the post stays on their account.
Can I run a Spark Ad if the creator never posts the video?
A Spark Ads code points at a live post, so the creator posts first. If you want the video file to run from your own handle, that is the Ads deal on the UGC ads page.
Can the creator use a trending sound?
Organic posts can. A paid launch on a TikTok library sound is blocked, because library sounds are licensed for personal posts and an ad is commercial use. Brief original audio, or music the creator owns or licenses.
When does the commission stop?
When you stop running ads under the licence, when the licence ends, or when the creator revokes permission. The licence is 12 months by default, anywhere from 1 to 120 months, or perpetual if you choose it. End it any time and Socialync pauses the ad.
Spark Ads or Meta partnership ads: which one?
Run the platform your buyers use. The deal is the same shape on both and the Socialync fee is the same. TikTok takes a code per post; Meta can grant a whole account and can run an ad with nothing posted.
Spark the creator posts that already work
Post the campaign with your floor and your commission, hire from the creators who clear it, and launch the Spark Ad into your own TikTok ad account once the post is live. Founding brands build now and are live the moment the board opens, November 1 at 12:01 PM ET.
