UGC platform alternatives
UGC platforms compared on fees and who holds the money
UGC platforms charge brands in four main ways: a software plan with creator pay on top, a percentage added to creator pay, a percentage of ad results, or a price per video with creator pay included. Socialync's UGC job board has no plan. It charges 5% of agreed creator pay on organic jobs, counted when delivery is confirmed, and 1.5% of attributed sales or 1.25% of ad spend on ads deals.
Vendor prices checked on October 23, 2026, each linked to its source.
Who holds the money matters as much as the fee. SideShift keeps your creator budget in a brand wallet until you approve the work. Insense freezes a hired creator's pay in the brand's account until the deliverables are in. Influee keeps the creator's payment until you approve the content. On Socialync the brand pays the creator directly, and Socialync never holds creator pay.
Socialync costs more than Trybe on flat-rate work: $50 against $15 on $1,000 of creator pay. The ads fees are the same. Against SideShift Starter on monthly billing, Socialync costs less until you deliver $5,980 of creator pay a month, and a month with no delivered jobs costs $0.

How to read the table
Fee on creator pay
A charge worked out from what you pay creators, on top of any plan. On $1,000 of creator pay: Insense on its Brand plan adds $100, Influee on any plan adds $100, JoinBrands on its free tier adds $150, JoinBrands on Max adds $80, Trybe charges $15 on flat-rate work, and Socialync charges $50 on an organic job. Socialync bills its fee to the brand on its own invoice and never takes it out of the creator's pay.
Holds creator pay until you approve
Whether you load creator money into the platform before the work, to be released when you approve it. SideShift's FAQ puts it as “nobody gets paid until you approve the work.” Some brands want that hold. It also means the budget sits with the platform until then.
How delivery is checked
A link the creator shares, the brand's approval of an upload, tracked posts, or publishing through the platform from the creator's own account. The last one ties the deliverable to the live post.
Four ways UGC platforms charge brands
Socialync takes a percentage of creator pay with no plan: 5% on delivered organic jobs. Its ads deals charge 1.5% of attributed sales or 1.25% of ad spend, the same model and rates as Trybe.
A software plan, creator pay on top
SideShift charges $299 to $999 a month on monthly billing, or $210 to $699 a month billed yearly. The plan costs the same in a busy month and an empty one, so it suits steady, high volume.
A percentage added to creator pay
Insense adds 20%, 10% or 7% by plan, JoinBrands 15% down to 8%, and Influee 10%, each on top of a monthly plan or a free tier. The platform usually runs payment and approval for you.
A percentage of ad results
Trybe charges 1.5% of attributed sales or 1.25% of ad spend, and 1.5% of creator earnings on flat-rate work. It suits brands running creator content as Meta ads with attribution.
A price per video, creator pay included
Billo prices each video from $99, creator pay included, paid from prepaid packs with no subscription needed to order. It suits brands that want finished ad files and no creator management.
To compare a plan with a percentage, divide the plan price by the percentage. SideShift Starter at $299 a month against a 5% fee gives $5,980 of delivered creator pay a month. Below that, the percentage costs less. Above it, the plan does.

What to check before you pick a UGC platform
- What you pay in a month when nothing is delivered.
- Who holds the creator budget, and when it moves.
- Where creator stats come from: screenshots, a profile the creator fills in, tracked posts, or the platform API on the creator’s connected account. How to verify a creator’s followers and views.
- Where the content goes up: the creator’s own audience, a fresh account built for the campaign, or your ad account.
- What the usage rights cover and for how long, in writing before the work starts.
- Which countries creators can be in, and who handles tax forms.
- Whether you can invite creators you already know, search a directory, or work from applicants.
On Socialync, creators who do not clear your qualification floor never see the job. Follower counts come from the creator's connected account, and average views come from the posts they publish through Socialync, read from the platform API (verified stats). See how hiring works.
Questions brands ask when comparing UGC platforms
Which UGC platforms charge no monthly subscription?
Socialync charges no plan: 5% of agreed creator pay on delivered organic jobs, and 1.5% of attributed sales or 1.25% of ad spend on ads deals. Trybe is free to start and charges a percentage of results or of flat creator earnings. JoinBrands has a free tier with a 15% fee on creator pay. Billo needs no subscription to order videos: you load a balance with prepaid packs and each video is priced from $99. SideShift, Insense and Influee charge a monthly plan.
Do UGC platforms hold the creator’s money?
Most of the ones we checked do. SideShift keeps creator funds in your wallet until you approve the work, and Insense, Influee and JoinBrands also route creator pay through the platform. Trybe charges brands and pays creators through Stripe. Socialync never holds creator pay: the brand pays the creator directly.
How do I compare a monthly plan with a percentage fee?
Divide the plan price by the percentage. SideShift Starter at $299 a month against Socialync’s 5% organic fee gives $5,980. Below that much delivered creator pay a month the percentage costs less, and above it the plan does. Then weigh what the plan includes that you would otherwise do yourself, such as tax forms or creator search.
Does Socialync cost less than every UGC platform?
No. On flat-rate work Trybe charges 1.5% of creator earnings and Socialync charges 5% on organic jobs: $15 against $50 on $1,000 of creator pay. The ads fees are the same on both. Against a monthly plan, Socialync costs less until your delivered creator pay passes the break-even.
Where do the numbers on this page come from?
Each vendor’s own pricing, FAQ or terms page, read on the date shown next to it. Socialync’s fees come from the code that bills them. Plans change, so confirm on the vendor’s site before you buy.
