Cohley UGC alternatives for brands
Cohley does not publish its prices. It sells a platform license priced to the amount of content you generate, on a 3-month pilot paid upfront or a 12-month annual plan, and you pay creators on top. If you want to hire creators without a license or a minimum term, Socialync’s UGC job board charges 5% of agreed creator pay on organic jobs, counted when delivery is confirmed, and $0 in a month with no delivered jobs.
Cohley prices and policies checked on October 23, 2026.
Cohley says it is built for mid-market and enterprise brands that sell physical products in the US and Canada, generally at $10M+ in annual revenue. Choose it for outright ownership of every asset, reviews syndicated to retailer pages, seeding at $35 per completed post and no creator 1099s for your team to issue. Choose Socialync if you want creators posting on their own accounts across eight networks, paid by you directly, with the 5% organic fee counted only when a job is delivered.
Socialync is our product. Every Cohley figure here comes from Cohley’s own pages, contracts and creator help center, checked October 23, 2026, and linked in the sources list.
If you came here for Cohley itself: brands and creators sign in at connect.cohley.com, and creator support lives at cohley.freshdesk.com. This page is an independent comparison written by Socialync.

How Cohley UGC works
For brands
- You book a demo and sign a pilot or annual order. A customer success manager runs onboarding; Cohley says most brands launch a first brief within two weeks and get first content around week five.
- You write a Creative Brief: deliverables, pay, deadlines, a style guide and Content Non-Negotiables. Finn, Cohley’s AI agent (labelled beta), can draft it.
- You target by niche, platform, followers, engagement rate, age, gender and location. Creators who do not match never see the brief.
- Vetted creators apply, typically within 24 to 48 hours. Finn sorts them, and you accept a cohort on portfolios, connected-account analytics and past brand ratings.
- An AI check reviews each submission against your non-negotiables before it reaches you. A creator who breaks one reshoots before payment.
- You approve and trigger payment within 30 days of the due date. Assets land in your Content Library, owned by you, with Spark Ads and Partnership Ads codes collected at upload.
For creators
- Creators apply to join, a person reviews each application, and members must be 18 or older.
- UGC, Influencer and Professional briefs pay cash. Product Reviews and Seeding briefs pay in product.
- Pay is a set rate, a negotiated rate or a follower tier, fixed at acceptance. Cohley says it takes no cut.
- Pay goes out by PayPal only, by a pay-by date 30 days after the brief’s due date. Some briefs ask creators to buy the product and get reimbursed.
Who pays whom
On Cohley, you pay the platform license on the terms in your order, and you fund creator pay inside Cohley: a preloaded compensation bank, an invoice per brief, ACH or card. Cohley sends each creator’s pay by PayPal once you trigger it, so your team issues no 1099s.
Cohley’s Master Services Agreement requires creator pay to go through the platform, and its creator terms ask a brand and a creator who met there to keep their work and payments on Cohley for six months after the creator’s terms end.
On Socialync, creator pay never passes through Socialync. The brand pays the creator directly. US creators are paid on Socialync's pay page through their own Stripe account; elsewhere the two sides settle directly and Socialync verifies the delivery. Socialync bills its own fee on a separate monthly invoice. Socialync takes nothing from creator pay. Stripe's processing fee comes out of in-app payments, because the creator is the merchant of record.
Cohley pricing
Cohley does not publish prices. Its plans page lists Platform and Managed Services and says all plans have custom pricing based on the amount of content you generate. You get a quote on a demo call. This is everything Cohley publishes about cost.
| Plan | Price | Billing | What it includes | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pilot | Custom, quoted on a demo | 3 months, paid upfront. No free trial | Unlimited briefs, integrations, perpetual content rights and guided onboarding, on the platform or Managed Services | cohley.com/faq |
| Annual | Custom, quoted on a demo | 12 months. Order terms renew unless either side gives notice | Unlimited briefs, no seat limits, and a $6,000 creator compensation bonus | cohley.com/faq |
| Managed Services | Custom, priced separately from the license | About 6 to 8 weeks from kickoff to final assets | Cohley’s team runs strategy, recruiting, contracts, payments and reporting | cohley.com/faq |
| Product Seeding | $35 per completed post | Pay as you go. Product cost is separate | Applicant vetting, fulfilment and an asset check before each post goes live | cohley.com/blog/introducing-product-seeding |
| Creator pay | Set by you. Guidance: UGC videos from about $250, UGC photos from about $50 | Funded through Cohley, paid by PayPal | Most brands budget $2,500 to $3,000 a brief for 10 to 20 pieces of content | cohley.com/faq |
Cohley’s Master Services Agreement makes fees for the full term non-cancellable and non-refundable unless the agreement ends for Cohley’s breach, and adds a 1.5% finance charge per 30 days on late fees.

Fees: Cohley vs Socialync
| Fee | Cohley | Socialync | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Platform cost | Custom license; the pilot is 3 months paid upfront | $0 | Get Cohley’s quote before you compare totals. Socialync has no fixed cost. |
| Organic creator pay | No cut of creator pay | 5% of agreed creator pay, counted when delivery is confirmed | On Cohley’s budget guide of $2,500 to $3,000 a brief, Socialync’s fee is $125 to $150. Cohley’s cost sits in the license. |
| Ads deals | Spark Ads and Partnership Ads codes collected at upload; no fee tied to ad results listed | 1.5% of attributed sales or 1.25% of ad spend, never both | Socialync’s ads fee grows with your sales or spend. Cohley lists no charge tied to ad results. |
| Product seeding | $35 per completed post, product cost separate | No seeding program. A campaign can ship a product, every organic job also pays cash, and reimbursement deals are banned | For gifting at volume, Cohley has a priced product and Socialync has none. |
| Tax forms | Pay runs through Cohley and PayPal, so you issue no 1099s | Not handled by Socialync; Stripe verifies US creators’ payout accounts | A real advantage for Cohley if you pay many US creators a year. |
| Usage rights | Ownership of every approved asset, perpetual and universal | Organic only, or paid ads and whitelisting, by deal type; 12 months by default, up to 120 months or perpetual | Cohley includes ownership in every brief. On Socialync the term sits on the listing before creators apply. |
Socialync's fee is billed to the brand on its own invoice, monthly. The full breakdown is on the brand pricing page.
Cohley reviews: ratings and reported numbers
Trustpilot: cohley.com has a profile claimed in December 2020 with no reviews, checked October 23, 2026. App Store: a search for “cohley” the same day returned 19 apps and none from Cohley. Creators find briefs at connect.cohley.com.
Cohley’s own figures, as it reports them: started in 2015 by co-founders Tom Logan and Erik Graber, 200,000+ vetted creators and SOC 2 compliance. Its case studies include an Orangetheory Fitness franchisee (100+ location-specific videos, a 68% drop in cost per lead on TikTok) and Rhone (737 assets, 3 to 4 times the ROAS of its internal content).
On seeding, Cohley reports a 90%+ completion rate from its platform data, against about 30% for typical PR seeding. Socialync has no published case studies yet. Its job board opens November 1, 2026.
Who should choose Cohley, and who should choose Socialync
Choose Cohley if
- You are a mid-market or enterprise brand selling physical products in the US or Canada, the customer Cohley says it is built for.
- You want to own every asset outright, with perpetual, universal usage rights.
- You need reviews on retailer pages. Cohley syndicates text, photo and video reviews through Bazaarvoice, PowerReviews and Yotpo to sites such as Target.com and Walmart.com.
- You want product seeding at volume for $35 per completed post, with every asset checked before it posts.
- You want creator pay, payouts and tax paperwork in one place, with SOC 2 for your security review.
- You want professional shoots from the same vendor, or a team to run it all through Managed Services.
- You want to search a vetted pool, target by age and gender, and read case studies before you buy.
Choose Socialync if
- You want no license, pilot or annual term. You pay 5% of agreed creator pay on organic jobs when delivery is confirmed, and $0 in a quiet month.
- You sell an app, software or a service. Cohley’s FAQ says it “isn’t a great fit” for service businesses and app-based brands. Socialync campaigns can ship a product or nothing, and Software & Apps is one of its 21 niches.
- You want the post on the creator’s own account, on any of eight networks with X, LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky included, published through Socialync and attached to the job.
- You want to filter on views. Brands set countries, languages, niches, and minimum followers and average views per platform. Creators who do not clear the floor never see the job. Average views come from posts published through Socialync in the last 30 days, read from the platform API.
- You want to pay creators directly, with no compensation bank to fund.
- You want pay tied to views: a view bonus on top of a flat fee, or CPM with a cap, settled on views read from the platform API.
- You want clear review terms: unlimited revisions and 7 days to rule on each draft, with the paid partnership label forced on every TikTok and Instagram campaign post.
Three deal types run on the board: organic posts, whitelisting and partnership ads, and UGC videos for your own ads.

If you make UGC on Cohley
You can work on both. On Cohley, PayPal is the only payout route, with no bank transfer or check, so a permanently limited PayPal account has to be cleared with PayPal or swapped for another account you own before you get paid. The brand has until a pay-by date 30 days after the brief’s due date, and delivering early does not move it. Product Reviews and Seeding briefs pay in product, and some briefs ask you to buy the product and claim the cost back.
On Socialync, every organic job pays cash: a flat fee, a rate per post, a flat fee plus a view bonus, or CPM. Pay and usage rights sit on the listing before you apply, applying is free and unlimited, and Socialync takes nothing from your pay. US creators are paid by the brand into their own Stripe account, where Stripe’s processing fee applies; elsewhere the brand pays you directly. Reimbursement deals are banned, so you never front the product cost.
Cohley Influencer briefs name one platform (Instagram, TikTok or YouTube), and Cohley refreshes your metrics daily only while you keep applying. Socialync organic jobs post to your own account through Socialync on any of eight networks. Clear a brand’s floor on followers and average views and the job shows on your board. A free account works one job at a time and a paid plan works five at once. The marketplace is 18+ on both sides.
