SideShift vs Trybe: UGC Apps Compared (2026)
SideShift UGC and Trybe UGC sell two different jobs. SideShift is a $299 to $999 a month subscription for organic creator campaigns, and your creator budget sits in a SideShift wallet until you approve the work. Trybe has no plan. It takes 1.5% (or 1.25% of ad spend) and turns creator videos into Meta ads. Organic volume points to SideShift. Paid ads on performance point to Trybe.
Every price and policy below comes from the vendor's own page, checked October 23, 2026, and linked. SideShift's own AI answer file, blog.sideshift.app/llms.txt, still listed older prices that day (Starter $199, Growth $299, a 7-day trial), so check the date before you quote a number. A search for "sideshift vs trybe" or "trybe vs sideshift" that day turned up no page comparing the two.
The comparison tables add a third option: Socialync, a UGC job board that opens November 1, 2026. Disclosure: I built it. It has no plan for brands. It charges 5% on delivered organic jobs and the same ads rates as Trybe. On flat-fee work it costs more than Trybe, and the tables show it.
Which SideShift and which Trybe
Both names collide with other companies. SideShift here means sideshift.app, the creator marketplace run by SideShift Corporation. It has nothing to do with sideshift.ai, a crypto swap service, or forklift side shifters. If a review talks about swapping Bitcoin, it is about the wrong SideShift.
Trybe here means jointrybe.com, run by Trybe Tech Inc, whose creator app is "Trybe Creators" on the App Store. It is unrelated to TRIBE (tribegroup) and to the spa software also called Trybe.

Sources, all checked October 23, 2026: SideShift's brand plans page, creator FAQ and homepage FAQ. Trybe's homepage FAQ and brand terms of service, effective August 8, 2026. App Store listings for SideShift and Trybe Creators. The third column comes from the product's own rules.
Three differences carry most of the weight:
- Price model. SideShift bills for the software every month, whether or not anything ships. The other two charge only when work happens.
- Money. SideShift and Trybe both collect the brand's money before a creator sees it. The third column never touches it.
- Lane. SideShift is built around organic posts, often on fresh accounts. Trybe is built around ads from the brand's ad account.
SideShift pricing: plans, wallet and recommended spend
| Plan | Monthly | Billed yearly | Creators live at once | Job listings | Creator invites | Tracked videos a month | Team seats | Recommended creator spend |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Source: sideshift.app/plans/brands, checked October 23, 2026. Monthly plans include a 14-day free trial.
"Your subscription covers the software," the plans page says. Creator payments, paid ad spend and the optional Managed service sit on top. You fund a wallet with your creator budget, set base fees and any view bonus, and release the money when you approve the work. The page tells brands to "review any applicable payment-processing charges when funding your wallet or sending payouts." It prints no percentage for those charges.
What the plan buys you:
- Contracts and usage rights for organic and paid use on every hire
- Automated payouts, with 1099s and W-9s handled
- Identity checks before payouts
- "Checked views (no fake counts)" plus CPM and ROAS per creator
- AI tools and MCP access on every tier
The limits that decide your tier
Starter holds 15 creators live at once, one job listing and 200 invites. A test that needs 30 creators posting in the same week puts you on Growth at $499 a month, whatever your budget.
SideShift's homepage FAQ adds two numbers that show how the marketplace behaves. The median job collects 284 applications in its first 48 hours. The median account pays $7 to $9 a video, measured over the last 90 days. Plan for a long applicant list to read and a low price per video.
Trybe UGC pricing and fees
Trybe has no pricing page. Its numbers live in the homepage FAQ: "Free to start, and never more than 1.5%." What changes is what the percentage is charged on.
| What you pay the creator | Trybe's fee | Worked example | Fee in the example |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commission on sales (% of GMV or per order) | 1.5% of attributed sales | Ads attribute $8,000 in sales | $120 |
| Commission on ad performance | 1.25% of ad spend | You spend $2,000 on ads in the month | $25 |
| Flat rate (per submission, retainers, bonuses) | 1.5% of creator earnings | You pay $1,000 in flat fees | $15 |
Source: jointrybe.com FAQ, checked October 23, 2026: "Never stacked. No seats, no contracts, no minimums."
The brand terms explain when money moves. Flat fees are charged to your card when you accept a submission, and "No deposits or pre-funding are required." Commissions accrue "when attributable results occur" and are billed at least monthly. Trybe acts as payment facilitator: it collects from you and pays the creator.
The Trybe terms worth reading twice
Four clauses in the brand terms shape how you can use the content:
- Connected ad accounts. You connect every ad account you will run Trybe content through (Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager are the named examples) and keep them connected for 12 months after a campaign.
- Similarity detection. Trybe may use AI audio, visual and voice comparison to find its content used outside those accounts.
- Non-circumvention. For 12 months after a campaign, you agree not to work directly with a creator Trybe introduced in a way that avoids its fees. Earlier relationships are exempt.
- Licence by pay type. Flat-fee content gets a perpetual licence once paid. Commission content keeps its licence as long as you pay the commissions owed. Fall behind and fail to fix it within 14 days of notice, and that licence can be suspended, running ads included.
Settle that last clause before you brief anyone. For a perpetual licence on a video, pay flat. To keep the creator invested in results, pay commission and accept that the licence follows the payments.
Break-even: SideShift plans vs a 5% fee vs Trybe's 1.5%
This compares platform cost only. Creator pay comes on top in all three, so it cancels out.
The organic fee on the Socialync board is 5% of agreed creator pay, counted when delivery is confirmed. It reaches the price of SideShift Starter on monthly billing at $5,980 of delivered creator pay in a month.
| SideShift plan | Monthly price | Creator pay where 5% equals it | Billed yearly | Creator pay where 5% equals it | SideShift's recommended creator spend | 5% fee at that spend |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $299 | $5,980 | $210 | $4,200 | $2,000 to $5,000 | $100 to $250 |
| Growth | $499 | $9,980 | $349 | $6,980 | $5,000 to $10,000 | $250 to $500 |
| Scale | $999 | $19,980 | $699 | $13,980 | $10,000+ | $500+ |
The same comparison by month, with Trybe's flat-rate fee added:
| Delivered creator pay in a month | SideShift (monthly billing) | 5% organic fee | Trybe flat-rate fee (1.5%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| $0 | $299 (Starter, while subscribed) | $0 | $0 |
| $1,000 | $299 | $50 | $15 |
| $2,000 | $299 | $100 | $30 |
| $5,000 | $299 | $250 | $75 |
| $5,980 | $299 | $299 | $89.70 |
| $10,000 | $499 (Growth) | $500 | $150 |
| $20,000 | $999 (Scale) | $1,000 | $300 |
The SideShift tier per row follows its recommended spend bands. Your real tier depends on how many creators you run at once.
How to read the tables:
- Trybe is the cheapest of the three on flat-fee work, at every row. Its fee only reaches SideShift Starter's monthly price at about $19,933 of flat creator pay in a month.
- Below about $6,000 a month of creator pay, either percentage model costs less than SideShift Starter on monthly billing. On yearly billing, the 5% line drops to $4,200.
- A month with no delivered jobs costs $0 on Trybe and on the Socialync board. SideShift bills the plan either way.
- On ads deals, Trybe and Socialync charge identical rates: 1.5% of attributed sales or 1.25% of ad spend.
- SideShift's plan includes work you might otherwise do yourself: 1099 handling, identity checks, tracked views, team seats. If you need those, the plan buys something real.
To price the creator side first, the UGC rate calculator works per deliverable, and UGC rates: how much UGC creators make covers the published ranges behind it.
If you spend under $6,000 a month on organic creator work, the full fee model is at socialync.io/hire-ugc-creators.
Who holds the money
The fee row tells you what each app costs. This row tells you when money leaves your account and who has it until a creator is paid.
SideShift: a wallet you fund
You move your creator budget into a SideShift wallet. It stays there until you approve the work. The homepage FAQ puts the upside plainly: "A no-show costs you nothing, because nobody is paid until you approve the work."
On the creator side, funds land in the creator wallet within a few days of a campaign, and creators withdraw to a bank for "really small fees". The creator FAQ also says SideShift provides payment insurance and manages tax forms and contractor agreements. The trade-off is timing: your money sits in the wallet before the work exists.
Trybe: a payment facilitator
Nothing is pre-funded. Trybe charges your card for a flat fee when you accept a submission and bills accrued commissions at least monthly. Creators are paid through Stripe Connect with $0 withdrawal fees, in 170+ countries, and Trybe handles currency conversion. What you accept in return: connected ad accounts and non-circumvention both run 12 months past a campaign.
The third option: the brand pays the creator directly
Socialync never holds, moves or guarantees creator money. For a US creator, you pay on the Socialync pay page, and the charge lands directly on the creator's own Stripe account, with the creator as merchant of record. Cards cover up to $1,000; above that, US bank transfer from a business account. Creators outside the US settle directly with the brand, and the platform verifies the delivery and the stats.
Payment is due 14 days after confirmed delivery by default (you can set 1 to 90). The creator confirms the money arrived, so both sides hold the same record.
The cost of this model is that nobody collects up front. Some brands want the platform to hold funds as a buffer, and some creators want the money collected before they film. SideShift and Trybe both give you that. Here the protection is the record: a contract signed by both sides, the live post attached to the job, and the creator's payment confirmation. A job that closes unpaid stays on that record, and ratings run both ways.
UGC contract template: clauses and state law covers what a written agreement should hold, whichever app you use.
How delivery is verified
Each app proves the work happened a different way.
| What counts as delivered | Where the numbers come from | If nobody acts | |
|---|---|---|---|
| SideShift | You approve the work | Tracked posts (600, 2,000 or unlimited a month by plan) and "Checked views" | Nobody is paid until you approve |
| Trybe | You accept the submission. Using the content anywhere also counts as acceptance under the terms | Server-side last-click attribution, or Meta attribution, through connected ad accounts | If the campaign sets a review period and you miss it, the submission lapses |
| Socialync | The creator publishes through Socialync on their own account, the live post attaches to the job, you confirm | Followers from the connected account. Average views from posts published through Socialync in the last 30 days, read from the platform API | Drafts: 7 days a round, and silence there never counts as approval. Once the post is live, 14 days of silence confirms delivery |
Each check catches a different problem. Approval on SideShift tells you the video matches the brief. How it performs shows up later in the tracked views, and Starter tracks 600 videos a month. On Trybe, payment starts the moment you click Accept or use the video anywhere, and attribution then measures the sales from the ads you run. Publishing through Socialync proves the post is live on the creator's own account with the label on. Instagram Stories are refused for campaign posts there. Pick the check that matches what you pay for: a file for your own ads, sales from an ad, or a post on a real creator's feed.
On the Socialync board, every campaign post goes out public and labelled: TikTok's paid partnership toggle with the commercial disclosure, and Instagram's paid partnership label naming the brand when its account is connected. The FTC's disclosure guidance for influencers expects that kind of clear label on paid posts.
For the same check on any creator, see how to verify a creator's followers and views before hiring and the glossary entry on verified stats.
Organic vs performance UGC platforms: the lane each one runs
Put the two homepages' "how it works" steps side by side and the lanes are plain. SideShift's five steps put organic posts third and ads fourth. Trybe's three steps go straight from a creator joining to the brand running ads.
SideShift's organic lane
SideShift's homepage headline is "Turn organic creator marketing into your most profitable growth channel." Its five steps, as listed on October 23, 2026:
- Paste your website, and SideShift drafts the customer profile, campaign goals and pay structure.
- Collect applications. The page shows "284 applied in 48 hours".
- Test hooks, angles and faces on organic posts and watch what people view and share.
- Take the winners into Meta and TikTok ads.
- Approve the work and pay creators "in one click".
The model is volume: many creators, many posts, a base fee plus a view bonus, then the winners run as paid ads.
Get paid to make UGC
Brands post paid jobs on the Socialync job board with the pay and the floor on the listing. Follower counts come from the accounts you connect, and average views from the posts you publish through Socialync. You see the jobs those numbers clear. Applying is free, and Socialync takes nothing from your pay. The board opens November 1 at 12:01 PM ET. Set up your profile now so you can apply on day one.
A lot of that volume lands on new accounts. SideShift's creator FAQ asks "Do I need to create new social accounts for campaigns?" and answers "Often yes. Many brands prefer creators to build fresh accounts in the campaign's niche." The same answer notes that some brands pay to post on existing pages instead.
Trybe's performance lane
Trybe's homepage says "Creators earn based on performance." Its three steps: creators join a brand's program in one tap, the brand approves their submissions and runs them as Meta ads, and creators are paid on ad performance plus any retainers or bonuses. The brand FAQ says brands "launch 100+ ads in fewer than 10 clicks".
The creator FAQ says "followers don't matter on Trybe." The brand pays for the ad from its own ad account, so your follower count never enters the math. What matters is whether the brand launches your video: under the brand terms, commission accrues only "when attributable results occur".
The two lanes side by side
| What you want | SideShift UGC | Trybe UGC | Socialync |
|---|---|---|---|
| Organic posts on a creator's account | Yes, often on fresh campaign accounts | Not offered on the pages read | Yes, on the creator's existing connected account |
| Pay tied to views | Base fee plus view bonus ($1 to $4 per 1,000 views, per the creator FAQ) | Not offered on the pages read | View bonus or CPM, settled on API-read views |
| Ads from the creator's identity | "Run organic winners as paid ads" | Core: one-click whitelisted and Partnership Ads to Meta | Meta partnership ads and TikTok Spark Ads, launched into your own ad account |
| Commission on sales | "Sell through creators" use case | Core | Yes, uncapped while the licence runs |
| A video file for your own ads | Yes, with paid usage rights | Yes, a flat fee buys a perpetual licence by default | Yes, the Ads deal |
For paid ads, read whitelisting vs Spark Ads vs partnership ads, then Meta partnership ads: how brands run them. The TikTok side is on the Spark Ads page and in TikTok's Spark Ads help article. To weigh commission against flat pay, UGC deals vs affiliate marketing runs both.
How the Socialync job board works
The third column, step by step.
1. You post a campaign with a floor
Pick one of three public deal types:
- Organic post. The creator posts on their own account (sponsored posts).
- Whitelisting. Your ad runs from the creator's identity as a Meta partnership ad or TikTok Spark Ad (influencer whitelisting).
- Ads. The creator delivers the file and never posts it. You run it from your own handle (UGC ads).
The fourth deal, Retainer, is a private re-hire offer to a creator who already finished a paid job for you (creator retainers). It never appears on the public board.
Then set the qualification floor: countries, languages, and per platform minimum followers and minimum average views. Optional extras are a 30 day engagement rate and a "posted within N days" rule. Every field you set is a hard filter. Creators who do not clear it never see the job.
Organic pay can be flat, per post, flat plus a view bonus, or CPM with a required payout cap. Ads deals pay commission only, with no base at delivery, on sales, leads, clicks or views. That commission is uncapped. It runs while you run ads under the licence, and you can end the licence any time.
2. You clear a short publish checklist
A verified card (a $100 hold, released immediately, never captured), at least one connected social account, and the fee agreed once. Ads campaigns also need the ad platform's pixel on the connected ad account. You run one live public campaign at a time until a creator has been paid through Socialync. After that, no limit.
3. Creators who clear the floor apply
Applying is free and unlimited. Follower counts come from the creator's connected account, and average views come from the posts they publish through Socialync, read from the platform API. No screenshots, no self-reported numbers.
There is no directory and no search. You can invite a creator whose exact handle you already have, or one who applied before. The invited creator still applies and still has to clear the floor.
4. Contract, drafts, delivery
The contract is generated from the listing and signed by both sides. Rights follow the deal type. The licence defaults to 12 months; you can set 1 to 120, or perpetual if you pick it explicitly. Draft rounds are unlimited, with 7 days for you to rule on each. On a posting deal, the creator then publishes on their own account with the disclosure label forced on, the live post attaches to the job, and you confirm. On an Ads deal, the creator delivers the approved file and you confirm that.
5. Payment, the fee and the ad launch
You pay the creator directly. The 5% organic fee is counted at confirmed delivery and billed monthly in arrears on Socialync's own invoice, whether you paid on the pay page or off platform. Ads deals carry 1.5% of attributed sales or 1.25% of ad spend instead.
Meta partnership ads launch from Socialync into your own ad account. TikTok Spark Ads launch too, and Socialync applies the creator's Spark Ads code at launch. If TikTok does not accept it that way, you paste it once in TikTok Ads Manager. Ad budget never leaves your ad account.
Founding brands
The board opens Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 12:01pm Eastern. Build a campaign now and it goes live the moment the board opens. Nothing is charged before then, and the fee only counts on delivered jobs. No free month, no coupon. Marketplace participation is 18+ on both sides. Set yours up at socialync.io/for-brands.
Gaps to know before you pick it
- On flat-fee organic work, 5% costs more than Trybe's 1.5%: $50 against $15 on $1,000 of creator pay.
- No directory, no search, no matching.
- No 1099 or W-9 handling, and no identity checks before payouts. SideShift does both.
- In-app payment covers US creators only.
- No case studies yet. The first campaigns close after November 1.
- No TikTok Shop affiliate deals.
SideShift vs Trybe for brands: which one fits
Pick SideShift UGC if
- You want a high volume of organic posts fast, measured by views and CPM, and fresh accounts are fine.
- You will spend $2,000 a month or more on creators, so the plan is a small share of the total.
- You want 1099s handled, identity checks before payouts, and a wallet where nobody is paid until you approve.
- You sell a consumer app, the category most SideShift case studies come from, and want creator search.
Pick Trybe UGC if
- You already run Meta ads and want creator content loaded into your ad account as whitelisted or Partnership Ads in a few clicks.
- You want creators paid on attributed sales.
- You sell products through a store tied into Trybe's Shopify integration, with orders traced to the exact creator and submission.
- You want the lowest fee on flat-rate work: 1.5%.
- You accept connected ad accounts for 12 months, non-circumvention, and a commission licence tied to paying the commissions owed.
Pick the third option if
- You want posts on creators' existing accounts across up to 8 platforms, with the live post attached to the job.
- You want applicants filtered by a floor, on numbers read from the platform API, before you read any of them.
- You want no platform fee in a month with no delivered organic jobs, and you want to pay creators directly.
- You can accept a 5% organic fee, no directory, and no case studies before November 1.
You can run two of these at once. Read Trybe's non-circumvention clause first if a creator you met there might work with you elsewhere.
For the wider field, see the best UGC platforms for brands and creators and the UGC platform alternatives hub. If you are leaving one of these two, start with SideShift UGC alternatives or Trybe UGC alternatives.
To post a campaign with no plan, create a brand account at socialync.io and build it before the board opens.
SideShift vs Trybe for creators: regions, fresh accounts and when you get paid
Creators should compare three things: whether you can join, what the app wants from your accounts, and when money reaches you.
Where you can join from
SideShift takes creators in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, and its FAQ says more countries are coming. Trybe pays out in 170+ countries through Stripe. The Socialync board accepts creators anywhere outside sanctioned regions (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk), with in-app payment for US creators only. On phones, SideShift and Trybe both ship iOS apps. Trybe Creators is also on Google Play with 10K+ downloads, though Trybe's FAQ still calls Android coming soon, and a Google Play search on October 23 found no SideShift app. Socialync runs on the web, iOS and Android.
Do you need followers
SideShift: often no. Many campaigns want a fresh account in the campaign's niche, so everyone starts level.
Trybe: no. Your video runs as an ad from the brand's account.
Socialync: it depends on the brand's floor, which you see on every listing. A brand buying a video file has a reason to set it low. A brand buying a post on your feed usually sets it higher, because your audience is part of the purchase. Views are read from the posts you publish through Socialync in the last 30 days, so a platform you have never posted through reads as unmeasured.
If you are starting from zero, How to become a UGC creator without followers covers the content-only path.
When the money arrives
SideShift. You are paid after the brand approves the work, into your creator wallet within a few days. Withdrawals carry "really small" fees, with no number given. The iOS app also sells SideShift Pro as in-app purchases from $9.99 to $79.99, pitched with "Unlimited job applications".
Trybe. Flat fees are charged to the brand when it accepts your submission. Commission accrues only "when attributable results occur". So if a brand approves your video and never launches it, a commission-only deal pays nothing. A program that adds a flat fee per submission pays that fee at acceptance, whether or not the ad ever runs.
Socialync. The brand pays you directly on the listing's terms, due 14 days after delivery is confirmed unless the listing says otherwise. Socialync takes nothing from creator pay. On the US pay page, Stripe's processing fee comes out of the charge because you are the merchant of record. The commission risk above also applies to ads deals here, since they pay commission only with no base at delivery, so read the commission terms and the licence before you apply.
A free account works one job at a time; a paid plan (from $20 a month) works five at once. When a free creator signs a job, the posts it needs are added on top of the monthly allowance, so a free account can deliver the job it signed.
Ratings, as counts
As of October 23, 2026:
- SideShift on the App Store: 4.82 from 30,334 ratings, listed since June 3, 2024.
- SideShift on Trustpilot: 2.0 from 17 reviews, unclaimed profile.
- Trybe Creators on the App Store: 4.92 from 5,182 ratings since its March 24, 2026 launch.
- Trybe on Trustpilot: no profile found.
Read the written reviews for patterns about payouts and support, then run any app through these 12 red flags.

Frequently asked questions
Is Trybe cheaper than SideShift?
For most small and mid-size budgets, yes. Trybe has no plan and charges 1.5% on flat-rate work, so $5,000 of creator pay costs $75 in fees. SideShift Starter costs $299 a month on monthly billing at any spend. Trybe's fee only reaches $299 at about $19,933 of flat creator pay in a month. SideShift's plan does include 1099 handling, identity checks and tracked views.
Does SideShift or Trybe take a cut of creator pay?
Neither takes a percentage from the creator's agreed pay. SideShift's creator FAQ says brands pay SideShift, creators keep the contract amount, and bank withdrawals carry small fees. Trybe is free for creators with $0 withdrawal fees, and charges its 1.5% or 1.25% to the brand. Socialync also takes nothing from creator pay.
Which is better for creators, SideShift or Trybe?
It depends on where you live and how you want to be paid. SideShift takes creators in four countries and pays base fees plus view bonuses. Trybe pays out in 170+ countries and leans on commission, which pays only when the brand runs the ad and it produces attributable results. On all three, a flat fee is the structure that pays once the work is approved, whether or not an ad ever runs.
Which has better reviews, SideShift or Trybe?
On the App Store, SideShift shows 4.82 from 30,334 ratings and Trybe Creators shows 4.92 from 5,182, both checked October 23, 2026. SideShift's Trustpilot profile shows 2.0 from 17 reviews and is unclaimed. Trybe has no Trustpilot profile. Trybe's app is seven months old, so its sample is smaller.
Do SideShift and Trybe work with TikTok ads?
SideShift lists TikTok among its four platforms and runs organic winners as paid ads. Trybe's homepage pitches Meta ads, and its terms name TikTok Ads Manager as an example of a connected ad account. On the Socialync board, a whitelisting deal can run as a TikTok Spark Ad from your own ad account, launched with the creator's code.
Pick the lane, then the app
- Organic posts at volume, over $6,000 a month, 1099s handled: SideShift UGC.
- Meta ads paid on performance, lowest flat-rate fee: Trybe UGC.
- Posts on creators' real accounts, a floor before you read applicants, $0 in quiet months: the Socialync board.
Every number here has a date on it. Check the vendor pages again before you sign anything.
Brands can start a founding campaign today from socialync.io/hire-ugc-creators. It goes live when the board opens on November 1. Creators can create a free creator account at socialync.io and connect their accounts before the first listings land.
