Short answer: Yes, you can schedule tweets. On X (formerly Twitter) on the web, open the compose box, write your post, click the Schedule post button (the calendar icon), pick a date and time, then click Confirm and Schedule. How to schedule a tweet on X
These steps match the x.com compose box as it looked in October 2026. X's Help Center documents scheduling for X Pro and Media Studio but not this button, so if it has moved on your account, look for the calendar icon in the compose toolbar.
- Go to x.com on a computer and log in.
- Click Post or start typing in the compose box at the top of your timeline.
- Write your post and add any image or video.
- Click Schedule post (the calendar icon) in the toolbar under your post.
- Pick the month, day, year, hour and minute. The time zone shows under the time.
- Click Confirm, then click Schedule.
That is the whole flow. Nothing publishes until the time you picked.
Where do scheduled tweets go?
Open the compose box, click Schedule post (the calendar icon), and click Scheduled posts at the bottom of the Schedule dialog. Your saved drafts sit under Drafts in the top corner of the compose box. From the scheduled list you can open a post to change it or delete it.
If a scheduled tweet does not appear, check that you are logged into the same account. Scheduled posts belong to the account that created them.
Can you schedule tweets from the X app on your phone?
The calendar icon is a feature of the web compose box. If you do not see it in the phone app, schedule from x.com in your phone's browser or use a scheduler with a mobile app.
Can you schedule a thread on X?
A thread is a chain of posts, and it is the one thing the basic compose box handles awkwardly. Check X's Help Center for what your account can schedule.

Can you schedule long posts on X?
The default limit is 280 characters. X Premium accounts can write longer posts. Check X's Help Center for whether a long post can be saved as a draft or scheduled on web, because that rule has changed before.
In Socialync, a free X account is held to 280 characters. If you have X Premium, turn on the "X Premium" toggle on your connected X account in Settings, Connections and the limit rises to 4,000 characters.
