Short answer: Yes, you can schedule posts on LinkedIn for free. Click Start a post, write it, click the clock icon in the lower right, pick a date and time, click Next, then Schedule. You can schedule from 10 minutes to 3 months ahead. To see what is queued, open the post box, click the clock icon and choose View all scheduled posts. To send the same post to other networks at the same moment, use a scheduler like Socialync.
Those steps and limits come from LinkedIn's own Schedule posts help page, checked October 2026.
I'm Jack. I built Socialync, so the last method below is my product and I'll say so when we get there. If your post only goes to LinkedIn, the native scheduler covers it and you can stop reading after the first two sections.
Three ways to schedule a LinkedIn post
| LinkedIn on your profile | LinkedIn on a Page | Socialync | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where you use it | LinkedIn desktop site or app | LinkedIn Page admin tools | Browser, iPhone or Android app |
| Where the post goes | Your profile | Your Company Page | LinkedIn plus Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram and more (X on paid plans) |
| How far ahead | 10 minutes to 3 months | 1 hour to 3 months | 2 months on the free plan, 12 months on paid plans |
| Who can do it | You | Super admins and content admins of the Page | The owner of the Socialync account |
| Cost | Free | Free | Free plan: 5 posts a month. Paid plans from $20 a month |
Pick by where the post is going:
- LinkedIn only, from your own profile: the native scheduler.
- LinkedIn only, for a Company Page: the native Page scheduler.
- LinkedIn plus Threads, Bluesky, Facebook, X, Instagram and the rest: a scheduler.
How to schedule a post on your LinkedIn profile
On desktop, from LinkedIn's help page:
- Click Start a post at the top of your homepage.
- Write your post.
- Click the clock icon in the lower-right corner.
- In the Schedule post window, pick the date and time.
- Click Next and check the date and time shown above the post.
- Click Schedule. A confirmation appears in the lower-left corner.
On mobile:
- Tap Post in the navigation bar.
- Write your post.
- Tap the clock icon in the upper-right corner.
- Pick the date and time, then tap Next.
- Tap Schedule.
Two details save you a rejected post. You can pick a time in 30-minute steps from the dropdown or type an exact time. And LinkedIn converts your time to UTC using your device's time zone, so check the zone on your phone or laptop before you schedule for another country's morning.
LinkedIn's help page says events and jobs cannot be scheduled.
Where are my scheduled posts on LinkedIn?
This is the search with the most confusion, so here it is plainly. Per LinkedIn's help page:
- Desktop: click Start a post, then the clock icon (a badge shows how many posts are queued). In the Schedule window, click View all scheduled posts.
- Mobile: tap Post, then the clock icon, then View all.
There is no calendar view and no tab on your profile. The list lives behind the clock icon in the post box.
How to edit, reschedule or delete a scheduled LinkedIn post
Open your scheduled posts the way I just showed you, then:
- Edit or reschedule: click the More icon in the upper right of the post, then Modify schedule or Edit post.
- Remove the schedule and publish later by hand: click Edit next to the time above the post, then Clear time (on mobile, Clear). Then publish with Post or discard it.
- Delete: click the Delete icon next to the post in the list, then confirm with Delete.
How to schedule a post on a LinkedIn Company Page
Page posts have their own rules, set out on LinkedIn's scheduled posts for Pages help page (checked October 2026):
- Only super admins and content admins of the Page can schedule.
- You can set a publish time from one hour to three months ahead.
- Any admin can view, edit, reschedule and delete posts that other admins scheduled.
- The scheduled post gives you Post now, Edit post, Modify schedule and Delete post.
- Events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs and service posts cannot be scheduled.
- A scheduled post cannot be promoted from Campaign Manager until it is published.
- If an admin is removed from the Page, their scheduled posts move to the admin who removed them.
LinkedIn's help page points to a separate guide for the exact clicks, so follow that guide from the Page admin view. If you cannot find the scheduling option, check your role first.
Personal profile posts and Page posts are managed separately. A post you scheduled from your profile will not appear in the Page's list, and the reverse is also true.
How to schedule LinkedIn posts with Socialync
LinkedIn's scheduler stops at LinkedIn. If the same idea is also going to Threads, Bluesky, Facebook or X, you write it again in each app. A cross-platform scheduler fixes that.
Post to all your platforms in one click
Socialync lets you cross-post to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, and Pinterest, with AI-powered captions for each platform. Free to start.
Here is the path in Socialync:
- Create a free account (no card) and open Settings, then Connections. Connect LinkedIn. After LinkedIn's sign in, Socialync lists your personal profile and the Company Pages you admin, and you pick which one this brand posts as.
- Start a post and tick LinkedIn plus any other platforms you want.
- Write the LinkedIn version. LinkedIn allows up to 3,000 characters, and you can write a different caption for each platform.
- Add images if you want them. A LinkedIn post can carry up to 9 images through Socialync.
- Pick a date and time, then schedule.
A few specifics I verified in the product:
- One publish counts as one post on the free plan, however many platforms it goes to. The free plan gives you 5 posts a month.
- Schedule up to 2 months ahead on the free plan and 12 months ahead on paid plans.
- First comment: you can attach a first comment to a LinkedIn post, up to 1,250 characters. A lot of people drop the link there instead of the post body.
- One LinkedIn account per brand. To post as yourself and as your Page, connect the second one to another brand. Free is 1 brand, and paid plans include unlimited brands.
Paid plans start at $20 a month for 5 connected accounts. The pricing page has the full lineup.
If you want to cross-post a LinkedIn idea to another network, the LinkedIn to Threads guide shows what changes between the two. The Socialync LinkedIn page covers everything the composer does for LinkedIn.
Schedule LinkedIn posts from Claude or ChatGPT
Socialync has an MCP server on every plan, free included. Connect it to Claude and you can say "schedule this for Tuesday at 9am to my Page", see the exact text and time, and approve it. Setup is in Post to LinkedIn with Claude. Video is always scheduled and has to be uploaded in Socialync first, because a video file cannot travel through a chat.
What to do before you hit Schedule
- Check the time zone. LinkedIn schedules in your device's zone. A wrong zone on your laptop shifts the hour your post goes out.
- Preview the first lines. LinkedIn cuts long posts behind a "see more" link, so the opening has to carry the post.
- Keep a buffer for Pages. The one-hour minimum means a "post in 30 minutes" is not possible for a Page.
- Keep the queue short. A queue three months out is hard to remember. Scheduling a week at a time makes edits easier. My own LinkedIn algorithm guide covers what tends to help a post once it is live.
