Short answer: Yes, you can schedule Instagram Stories. Meta Business Suite is the free, official route, and Meta's help center has a guide to scheduling Facebook and Instagram content in the Business Suite mobile app (Meta Business Help). Instagram's own scheduling page covers photos, carousels and Reels only, so the Instagram app itself does not schedule Stories (Instagram Help Center, checked October 2026). How to schedule an Instagram Story in Meta Business Suite
These are Meta's steps for the Business Suite mobile app (Meta Business Help, checked October 2026). You need at least partial access to the Facebook and Instagram accounts you post to.
- Open the Meta Business Suite app and tap Content in the bottom menu.
- Pick Stories at the top.
- Tap Create. The first time, allow access to your photos and videos.
- Add your photo or video, then tap Next.
- Tap Schedule for later, choose the date and time, and tap Schedule.
- Find the scheduled Story later in Planner.
Stories vanish after 24 hours, so set the time to when your audience is online.
How to schedule an Instagram Story with Socialync
- Connect your Instagram account in Socialync.
- Start a post and add one image or one video.
- Choose Instagram. In the post type options, pick Story (described in the composer as a "24-hour temporary post").
- Pick a date and time, then schedule it.
Socialync sends the Story through Instagram's publishing API at the scheduled time. Three limits come with that:
- One image or one video per Story. If you attach several files, only the first one is used.
- No caption on the Story. Instagram's publishing API has no caption field for Stories, so the text you type does not appear on the Story. Put any words on the image or video itself.
- No Stories on campaign posts. If a post is tagged to a paid marketplace campaign, the Story option is removed, because a Story cannot carry the paid partnership label.
Story images keep their natural 9:16 shape. Socialync does not pad them with a blurred background the way it can for feed photos.
Facebook Page Stories work the same way, with one catch: Socialync publishes image Stories to Facebook, and video Stories to Facebook are not supported yet. Post a video as a regular Facebook video instead.
