Short answer: To edit a scheduled Facebook post, open Meta Business Suite, click Content in the left menu, open the Posts & reels tab and select Scheduled. Click the ... icon on the post, then Manage post. From there you can edit the post, reschedule it or delete it. To schedule a new one, click Create post, write it, choose to schedule instead of posting now, pick a date and time and click Schedule.
Facebook only lets you schedule posts on a Page. A personal profile has no scheduling option, and a profile in professional mode still counts as a profile.
I'm Jack. I built Socialync, so there is a section below about my own product, and I'll say when it starts. If your post only goes to Facebook, Meta's free tool is enough.
Where scheduled Facebook posts live
Three places show your scheduled posts. Which one you see depends on how you scheduled the post.
| Where | What you see | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Business Suite, Content | A list of scheduled posts and reels | Pages and Instagram accounts in one business portfolio |
| Meta Business Suite, Planner | A calendar of scheduled posts and stories | Seeing the whole month at once |
| Socialync calendar | Every post you scheduled in Socialync, across platforms | Facebook plus Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and more |
A post scheduled in one tool shows up in that tool. If you scheduled it in Socialync, look in the Socialync calendar. If you scheduled it in Business Suite, look in Business Suite.
How to schedule a Facebook post in Meta Business Suite
Business Suite is Meta's free tool for running a Facebook Page and an Instagram account from one place. It works on desktop and in the Business Suite mobile app, and it uses a business portfolio, which is Meta's container for your Page and linked accounts (see Meta's Business Suite overview).
On a computer:
These are Meta's steps for Business Suite on desktop (Meta Business Help, checked October 2026). You need full control of the Page or content permission for it.
- Go to Meta Business Suite.
- Click Create post, on the home page or the Content tab.
- Under Post to, pick your Facebook Page, and your Instagram profile if the post goes there too.
- Under Media, add your photos (Instagram takes up to 10).
- Under Post details, write your text. You can change it per platform.
- Under Scheduling options, pick the date and time. Active times suggests times from the last 7 days of follower activity.
- Click Schedule.
On a phone, open the Business Suite app, tap Content in the bottom menu, pick Posts, tap Create, add your text and media, tap Next, then tap Schedule for later, pick the time and tap Schedule (mobile guide).
How to see scheduled posts on Facebook
- Open Meta Business Suite and click Content in the left menu.
- Open the Posts & reels tab.
- Select Scheduled.
Meta's guide to Reels in Business Suite lists the same path for scheduled reels. If you prefer a calendar, the Planner shows scheduled posts by date, and Meta's Planner best practices page explains how to use it.
Can't see the post? Check these three things:
- Wrong Page. The page picker at the top decides what you see. Switch to the Page you scheduled on.
- Wrong tool. A post scheduled in Socialync or another scheduler lives in that tool. Look there.
- Role. You need access to the Page. Ask the Page admin to give you content access.
How to edit a scheduled post on Facebook
This is the part most people search for. The steps:
- In Meta Business Suite, click Content, then Posts & reels, then Scheduled.
- Find the post. Click the ... icon on it.
- Click Manage post.
- Pick Edit post to change the text or media, or Reschedule post to change the time. Move to drafts and Delete post sit on the same menu.
- Save your change.
To change only the time, use the reschedule option on the same menu and pick a new date and time. To remove the post, delete it from the same menu.
Two habits save you grief:
- Edit well before the publish time. A post that goes live while you are editing it is already live, and then you are editing a published post.
- Check the Page after the time passes. Open the Page and confirm the post is there. Takes ten seconds.
What if the Edit option is greyed out or missing?
A few causes cover most cases. The post may have already published, in which case it's under your published posts. You may be in a different Page than the one holding the post. Or your role on the Page may not include publishing. If none of those fit, delete the scheduled post and create it again.
Schedule Facebook posts with Socialync
This is my product, so read this section as a pitch from the builder.
Socialync schedules to Facebook Pages and to eight other platforms from one upload. Facebook takes text, images and video in Socialync, and the account you connect has to be a Page you manage. A personal profile has no Page behind it, so Meta's publishing access cannot reach it.
Post to all your platforms in one click
Socialync lets you cross-post to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, and Pinterest, with AI-powered captions for each platform. Free to start.
The steps
- Connect your Page once. Sign up free, open Settings, then Connections, and connect Facebook. Pick the Page when Meta asks.
- Start a post. Add your text, photo or video.
- Tick Facebook. Tick Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn or any other connected account if the post goes there too.
- Write one caption, or one per platform. Facebook reads better conversational. Instagram wants it tight. Open each platform's tab to change its caption.
- Click Schedule and pick the time. The time is in your own time zone.
Edit or move a scheduled post in Socialync
Open the calendar, click the post and choose Edit. Change the caption, media or time and save it. One calendar holds the posts for every platform, so you don't check Business Suite for Facebook and a second app for the rest.
You can also ask an AI assistant to do it. Socialync's MCP server includes tools to list your scheduled posts and update one, so Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can reschedule a post for you after you confirm in chat.
How far ahead can you schedule?
The free plan schedules up to 2 months ahead. Paid plans schedule up to 12 months ahead. The free plan includes 5 posts a month, and one post sent to Facebook and Instagram together counts as one post. Paid plans start at $20 a month with unlimited posts. See pricing for the full list.
Facebook plus Instagram from one upload
Both are Meta apps, and the audiences differ. Facebook skews toward community and conversation, and Instagram toward visuals. Write the Facebook caption in a chatty voice and the Instagram one short. Our Facebook to Instagram page has the full setup, and the Facebook platform page covers connecting and posting.
If your Reels go to Instagram too, the Instagram Reels scheduling guide walks through that path. To send one video to every platform, read how to post one video to every platform at once.
What Socialync can't do on Facebook
- Personal profiles and groups. Socialync posts to Pages only.
- A first comment on Facebook. Comments on Facebook are waiting on Meta's approval. First comments work on Instagram, YouTube, X, Threads, LinkedIn and Bluesky.
- Facebook comment replies from the inbox. Reading and replying to Facebook comments is coming soon.
Which one should you use?
- Facebook only, one Page: Meta Business Suite. It's free and it does the job.
- Facebook and Instagram, one sitting: Business Suite handles both, and a cross-platform scheduler adds TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and the rest.
- Several platforms every week: one upload with a caption per platform saves the most time. That's Socialync, and it's why I built it.
If you worry that scheduled posts get less reach, we looked at that in does scheduling hurt engagement.
FAQ
How do I edit a scheduled post on Facebook?
Open Meta Business Suite, click Content, open Posts & reels and select Scheduled. Click the ... icon on the post, choose Manage post, change what you need and save. You can also reschedule it to a new date and time or delete it from the same menu.
How do I see my scheduled posts on Facebook?
In Meta Business Suite, go to Content, then Posts & reels, then Scheduled. The Planner shows them on a calendar. Make sure the Page picker at the top is set to the Page you scheduled on.
Can you edit a scheduled post on Facebook after scheduling it?
Yes, until it publishes. Once the post goes live you edit it as a normal published post on the Page. Make changes to a scheduled post well before its publish time.
Can you schedule a Facebook post on a personal profile?
Meta Business Suite lists three places a post can go: a Facebook Page, an Instagram profile or a Facebook Group. A personal profile is not on that list, so create a Page if you want to schedule, and connect that Page to your scheduler.
Why can't I edit my scheduled post on Facebook?
Usually the post already published, you are on a different Page, or your role on the Page doesn't include publishing. Check the Page's published posts first. If the option is still missing, delete the scheduled post and create it again.
Can I schedule Facebook and Instagram posts together?
Yes. Meta Business Suite posts to a linked Facebook Page and Instagram account in one step. Socialync does the same and adds TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest. Pick a caption for each.
How far ahead can I schedule a post in Socialync?
Up to 2 months ahead on the free plan and up to 12 months ahead on paid plans.
