Grok + Socialync
Post to social media with Grok
Grok posts to X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky through Socialync's MCP server. On grok.com, open Connectors, add a custom connector with https://mcp.socialync.io/mcp and sign in to Socialync. The free plan covers every network except X, with no card, and Grok publishes or schedules only after you confirm.
About five minutes the first time. Free plan, no card. X is on paid plans.
Five steps, once
- 1
Connect your accounts in Socialync
Create a free Socialync account (no card), open Settings, then Connections, and connect each network through its own sign in. X needs a paid plan, from $20/month. The other 7 work on free.
- 2
Add Socialync in Grok
Go to grok.com/connectors, click New Connector, choose Custom, and paste the URL below. On Grok Business and Enterprise, an admin adds the connector first.
https://mcp.socialync.io/mcp - 3
Sign in to Socialync
Grok opens a Socialync sign in. Sign in and pick the brands Grok may manage. grok.com connects with OAuth, so there is no API key to copy.
- 4
Ask for the post
For example: "Write an X post about our launch and schedule it for 9am tomorrow, then put the same news on LinkedIn and Threads." Grok checks each version against the network's limits.
- 5
Say yes, then check the calendar
Grok shows you the exact text, images, accounts and time and waits for your yes. Scheduled posts land in your Socialync calendar, where you can move or edit them.
Grok Bot is a separate product from grok.com. Its API key setup is in the connector guide.
What Grok can do through Socialync
Grok already writes the post. With Socialync connected it also handles the accounts, the timing and the queue in the same chat.
X posts that fit
280 characters on a standard X account, and up to 4,000 through Socialync when your X account has X Premium. Grok checks the length the way X counts it: an emoji counts as 2 and every link as 23.
X Articles
Long-form X Articles with headings, bold, lists and quotes. They need X Premium on your X account and publish right away, because X does not let apps schedule them.
A caption per network
The same news on X, Instagram (with an image), Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky, each with its own caption. One publish counts as one post.
Link in the first comment
Ask Grok to put your link or hashtags in a first comment. Socialync posts it under the post right after it goes live, on Instagram, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky.
Video, scheduled
TikTok, YouTube and Instagram Reels from a video in your Socialync library. Grok asks who can view each TikTok (Everyone, Friends, Followers or Only me), and YouTube needs a title.
Queue and numbers
List what is scheduled, cancel a post, see what failed and why, and pull views, likes and comments for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Bluesky.
X on Socialync
X posting is on paid plans, from $20/month for 5 connected accounts, including 1 X account. Each extra X account is a $10/month add-on. Socialync does not collect X post stats yet, so Grok can read numbers for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Bluesky.
Every post waits for your yes
Socialync tells Grok to show you the exact text, images, accounts and time before anything goes out, and to publish only after you confirm in the chat. Every publish is logged with when you confirmed it.
For a hard stop, ask Grok for a draft. It waits on your Socialync drafts page, nothing goes out until you approve it there, and a draft you do not approve expires after 24 hours. TikTok has one more check: Socialync refuses a TikTok post from grok.com until it carries your own choice of who can view it.
Optional: start the chat with this
Paste it at the top of a Grok chat to keep the posting rules in the conversation.
You can post to my social accounts through Socialync. Call list_profiles, then list_connections. Before any post, run validate_post, show me the exact text, platforms, images and time, and wait for my yes. For TikTok, ask me who can view the video. Use publish_scheduled for anything with a video.Limits
- X needs a paid Socialync plan. The other 7 networks work on free.
- Video is scheduled, never instant, because the platforms take minutes to process it. TikTok and YouTube take video only.
- X Articles need X Premium on your X account and publish right away. X does not let apps schedule them.
- Socialync does not collect X or LinkedIn post stats yet.
- 5 AI-created posts a day per brand on free, 10 on paid, to stay under the networks' spam thresholds.
- Free plan: 5 posts a month, 2 months of scheduling. Paid from $20/month: unlimited posts, 12 months.
Grok's connectors need a server Grok can reach on the public internet. Socialync's is hosted, so there is nothing to run.
Frequently asked questions
Can Grok post to X for me?
Yes, once Socialync is connected. Grok writes the post and shows it to you, and Socialync publishes it to your X account after you say yes. X needs a paid Socialync plan, from $20/month.
Do I need an API key?
No. grok.com signs in to Socialync with OAuth, the same way Claude and ChatGPT do. You pick which brands Grok may manage, and you can remove its access any time from Connected apps in Socialync.
Which Grok plans can add connectors?
xAI's connector documentation says connectors are available to all Grok users. On Grok Business and Enterprise, an admin adds the connector before members can use it.
Can Grok post to Instagram and TikTok too?
Yes. Image posts go to Instagram right away or on a schedule. TikTok and YouTube take a scheduled video from your Socialync library, and Grok asks who can view each TikTok first: Everyone, Friends, Followers or Only me.
Will Grok post without asking me?
No. Socialync tells Grok to show you the exact post and publish only after you say yes in the chat. For a hard stop, ask Grok for a draft instead: nothing goes out until you approve it in the Socialync app.
Is it free?
Yes to start, on every network except X. The free plan is $0 with no card: 5 posts a calendar month, up to 5 connected accounts, 2 months of scheduling, and MCP included. Paid plans start at $20/month with unlimited posts, X, and 12 months of scheduling.
Does this work in Claude and ChatGPT too?
Yes. It is the same server. Claude and ChatGPT each have their own walkthrough page.
