Is SideShift Legit? SideShift UGC App Review
Yes. SideShift is a real UGC app run by SideShift Corporation, and it pays creators real money: the company reports more than $10 million paid to creators in the 30 days before September 26, 2026. On October 23, 2026 its App Store rating was 4.82 from 30,334 ratings, and its Trustpilot score was 2.0 from 17 reviews.
Both numbers are real, and they measure different things. Whether SideShift is worth your time is a separate question from whether it is legit, and SideShift's own published numbers answer most of it: a median of $7 to $9 a video, 284 applications per job in the first 48 hours, creators in four countries only, withdrawal fees with no published amount, and terms that license your videos forever by default. This review lays out each one with a link and a date.
One disclosure first. Socialync runs a UGC job board that opened on November 1, 2026, so it competes with SideShift for creators. Read this the way you would read any competitor's review: click the links and check. Every SideShift figure below comes from SideShift's own pages, its App Store listing or a named third party, with the date it was checked.
Which SideShift is this? SideShift UGC vs SideShift.ai
Search "is SideShift legit" and many of the results are about a different company. Three things share the name.
| Name | Website | What it is | Covered here |
|---|---|---|---|
| SideShift (UGC app) | sideshift.app | A creator marketplace plus software for brands; iPhone app titled SideShift Earn Money, sold by SideShift Corporation | Yes |
| SideShift.ai | sideshift.ai | A crypto swap service run by a separate company | No |
| Side shifters | various | Forklift and marine equipment | No |
If a review talks about deposits sent on the wrong blockchain, crypto tokens or a swap, it is about SideShift.ai. Trustpilot keeps a separate profile for each domain, and the crypto one lists hundreds of reviews. The UGC app's profile is trustpilot.com/review/sideshift.app, with 17.
Everything from here on is about the UGC app at sideshift.app.
Is SideShift legit? What the public record shows
"Legit" comes down to three checks: a registered company behind the app, jobs that exist, and money that reaches creators.
| Check | What the source says | Source | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company | App Store seller is SideShift Corporation; app first released June 3, 2024 | App Store listing | Checked Oct 23, 2026 |
| Origin | Founded in 2024 as a campus job marketplace at the University of Wisconsin; moved into UGC after app founders started hiring students for content | NetInfluencer interview with CEO Nick Lawton | Feb 26, 2026 |
| Money paid out | "$10 million+ paid to creators over the past 30 days" | SideShift homepage (company reported) | Reported Sept 26, 2026 |
| Creators | "850k+" creators | Whop's post on SideShift payouts | May 21, 2026 |
| Brands | "Trusted by 3,000+ brands" | SideShift homepage | Checked Oct 23, 2026 |
| Named customers | Case studies with GPTZero, Picsart, Yik Yak, Astra and PopSockets x Target; quotes from Replit and Partiful staff | SideShift homepage | Checked Oct 23, 2026 |
The payout and creator counts are SideShift's own, published on its site or in a partner's post, and no outside auditor has checked them. Add the named customers, an app updated steadily since June 2024 and 30,334 App Store ratings, and the record points to an operating company that pays its creators.
That settles the narrow question. One more fact matters before you read old complaints. According to Whop's May 21, 2026 post, SideShift moved its creator payouts onto Whop's embedded payout system. Its co-founder and CTO, Drew Levin, told Whop that with the previous provider, "for payouts there was a lot of friction on both KYC and the withdrawal process." SideShift's current terms of service confirm it: payouts run "through Whop or another provider designated by SideShift."
SideShift reviews: the ratings, with dates
| Source | Score | Count | Checked | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| App Store (US) | 4.82 out of 5 | 30,334 ratings | Oct 23, 2026 | iPhone app titled SideShift Earn Money, Business category |
| Trustpilot | 2.0 out of 5 | 17 reviews | Oct 23, 2026 | 16 one star, 1 five star; profile unclaimed; reviews dated Sept 2025 to Oct 2026 |
Three facts explain most of the gap.
Scale. 30,334 ratings against 17 reviews. The App Store sample is about 1,800 times larger, and one bad week moves a 17 review average a long way.
Who writes them. App Store ratings come from the iPhone app, whose store title, SideShift Earn Money, is aimed at creators. Trustpilot's page says "This company hasn't invited their customers, so reviews may not be representative," and the profile is unclaimed.
Which side wrote them. By their own text, at least four of the 17 Trustpilot reviews come from brands writing about subscriptions, wallet fees or card charges, and at least three come from creators. Read the two groups separately. A brand's billing dispute says nothing about how creators get paid.
What creators praise
The App Store web page shows only a handful of the 30,334 ratings as written reviews. The positive ones it showed on October 23, 2026:
- A review dated July 29, 2025 calls the dashboard "super clean" and says "Payments have also been reliable, which is a huge plus compared to other platforms I've used."
- A review dated July 23, 2025 credits "the consistent flow of briefs" and a team that checks in and gives feedback.
- The single five star Trustpilot review, dated October 17, 2026, reads "Good and easy-to-use website."
What creators and brands complain about
| Theme | What the reviewer reports | Where and when | Side |
|---|---|---|---|
| Withdrawal stuck | A $1,141.65 withdrawal stuck "In transit" since October 12, 2026, with only automated replies | Trustpilot, Oct 21, 2026 | Creator |
| Unpaid work | "I have produced content without receiving any payment" | Trustpilot, Jun 8, 2026 | Creator |
| Slow pay | A review titled "Takes over a week to pay you" | App Store, Jan 7, 2026 | Creator |
| Hard start for beginners | Says sample videos could not be added without linking a past paid brand deal | App Store, Sept 18, 2026 | Creator |
| Silence from brands | "Brands never reply, and the system offers zero support or guidance for beginners." | Trustpilot, May 28, 2026 | Creator |
| Wallet fees | Describes 5% to fund the wallet and 2% to 3% to move money out | Trustpilot, Aug 8 and Sept 6, 2026 | Brand |
| Trial costs | A "free trial" that turned into charges through fees and deposits | Trustpilot, Oct 15, 2026 | Brand |
| Account deletion | Five reviewers say they could not delete the account, unlink a bank or disconnect TikTok | Trustpilot, Sept 2025 to Sept 2026 | Mostly unstated |
| Phone numbers | Says Moroccan phone numbers were refused at signup | Trustpilot, Apr 6, 2026 | Unclear |
Each line is one person's account, unverified by Trustpilot or Apple. Several themes also match SideShift's own published rules: the four country limit explains the phone number complaint, and a median of 284 applications per job explains why so many applicants hear nothing back.
How does SideShift work for creators?
SideShift's creator page lays out the flow. In order:
- Make a free account and fill in a profile. SideShift calls the profile "a common application": your social handles (personal or UGC accounts) plus links to your best performing videos.
- Earn the optional badge. A free UGC course inside the app gives you a verified badge, which SideShift says signals to brands that you are serious about UGC.
- Apply or get invited. Brands post campaigns. You apply directly, or a brand invites you if your profile stands out.
- Agree on the work. Some briefs come with full scripts, others leave the creative to you. SideShift tells creators to talk with each brand first and to check briefs for limits on working with competitors.
- Post and get approved. The brand reviews the work. SideShift's brand copy says nobody is paid until the brand approves it.
- Get paid to your wallet, then withdraw. Funds are released to your SideShift creator wallet "within a few days" after each campaign, and you withdraw to an outside account.
The flow changes quickly. Version 2.24 of the app, released September 19, 2026, added Instagram and TikTok account connection for creators, an in-app identity check and a new withdrawal flow. Version 2.21, released July 30, 2026, added a new dispute flow.
The fresh account question
SideShift's creator FAQ asks whether you need to create new social accounts for campaigns. Its answer starts with "Often yes. Many brands prefer creators to build fresh accounts in the campaign's niche." It adds that some brands pay for content to run as ads, and others pay creators to post on existing pages with an audience.
This shapes the job more than anything else on the page. A fresh campaign account starts at zero followers, so your pay leans on the base fee and on view bonuses from whatever reach a brand new account gets. Views there do nothing for your personal account's numbers. Pay per view on new niche accounts is close to how clipping campaigns work, and how to grow as a clipper covers running accounts like these. Read every brief for which account the post goes on before you apply.
284 applications per job
SideShift's homepage FAQ, written for brands, says "The median job collects 284 applications in its first 48 hours." That is a selling point for brands and a math problem for creators.
A brand on SideShift's Starter plan can have 15 creators live at once. If one job filled all 15 slots from its 284 applicants, 269 people would still hear no. A job that hires three creators turns away 281. Your profile and your samples are what move you from the 281 to the three.
How much does SideShift pay per video?
SideShift publishes its pay numbers in two places: the brand homepage and the creator FAQ.
| What SideShift says | Detail | Where | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Median pay per video | "the median account lands at $7 to $9 a video, measured over the last 90 days" | Homepage FAQ for brands | Oct 23, 2026 |
| Monthly earnings | $200 to $2,000 a month, plus performance bonuses | Creator FAQ | Oct 23, 2026 |
| View bonuses | $1 to $4 per 1,000 views | Creator FAQ | Oct 23, 2026 |
| Example payments | Anonymized payments of $30, $103.33, $150, $800, $1,680 and $2,000, captured Sept 8, 2026 | Homepage | Oct 23, 2026 |
Brands set the base fee and any view bonus. Creators apply at the brand's rate.
Run SideShift's own median and the shape of the work becomes clear. Before view bonuses, at $7 to $9 a video:
| Monthly amount | Videos needed at $9 | Videos needed at $7 |
|---|---|---|
| $200 (low end of SideShift's range) | 23 | 29 |
| $500 | 56 | 72 |
| $1,000 | 112 | 143 |
| $2,000 (high end of SideShift's range) | 223 | 286 |
View bonuses change the math on a video that travels. At SideShift's stated $1 to $4 per 1,000 views:
| Views on one video | Bonus at $1 per 1,000 | Bonus at $4 per 1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| 5,000 | $5 | $20 |
| 20,000 | $20 | $80 |
| 100,000 | $100 | $400 |
| 1,000,000 | $1,000 | $4,000 |
Every brand sets its own bonus terms, so read each listing for the rate, any cap and the window the views are counted in.
Nobody can promise you any number in these tables, and this review does not. They show the model. SideShift's median creator is paid for volume: many short posts at a low base, with bonuses on the ones that reach people. Published pay guides put a single beginner UGC video for a brand's own ads well above that median, and UGC rates in 2026 collects those ranges with their sources. Volume work and single deliverables pay differently per video. Price your own deliverables with the free UGC rate calculator before you apply anywhere.
What SideShift's brand plans tell you about pay
Brands pay SideShift a monthly plan and fund creator pay on top. SideShift publishes a recommended creator budget for each plan on its brand plans page, and dividing that budget by the creator slots gives a rough average of monthly pay per creator.
| Brand plan | Price a month (billed yearly) | Creators live at once | Recommended creator spend a month | Spend per creator if every slot is full |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $299 ($210) | 15 | $2,000 to $5,000 | $133 to $333 |
| Growth | $499 ($349) | 50 | $5,000 to $10,000 | $100 to $200 |
| Scale | $999 ($699) | Unlimited | $10,000 or more | No fixed slot count |
Prices checked October 23, 2026. Those are averages across a full roster, and real brands spend under or over the recommendation. As a guide to scale, they line up with the median: roughly $100 to $333 a month per creator on average, spread across many videos.
How SideShift pays you: wallet, withdrawals and fees
SideShift's creator FAQ says it charges brands, keeps the platform free for creators, and charges "really small fees on bank withdrawals." It also says you keep the full amount laid out in the contract.
| Step | What SideShift publishes | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Approval | The brand's budget sits in the brand's SideShift wallet until the brand approves the work | Homepage FAQ |
| Your wallet | Funds released to your creator wallet "within a few days" after each campaign | Creator FAQ |
| Identity | "Identity checks before payouts" | Brand plans page |
| Tax forms | "1099s and W-9s handled" | Brand plans page |
| Withdrawal fee | "really small fees on bank withdrawals"; no amount published on the pages checked | Creator FAQ |
| Disputes | "payment insurance" and 24/7 creator support if disputes arise | Creator FAQ |
| Written guarantee | A "Creator Payment Guarantee" for pay under a contract signed through SideShift | Terms of service, section C8 |
The payment guarantee and payout holds, in SideShift's terms
The creator FAQ's "payment insurance" has no terms page of its own. The closest written rule is section C8 of SideShift's terms of service, effective October 17, 2026 and checked October 23, 2026, titled "Creator Payment Guarantee". Here is what it and the sections around it say.
| Rule | What the terms say | Section |
|---|---|---|
| What is covered | Eligible pay under a contract signed through SideShift, once you finish the campaign and pass identity, payout, tax and analytics checks | C8.1 |
| How to claim | A formal nonpayment dispute within 30 days of the latest of: the campaign ending, the payment falling due, or your last message to the brand about the money | C8.2 |
| Review time | Up to 10 business days after a complete claim | C8.3 |
| Not covered | Off-platform work, amounts missing from the contract, incomplete or rejected work, late claims, and content you removed in breach | C8.5 |
| Holds | SideShift may hold or reverse a payout for up to 180 days if it suspects fraud, fake engagement, account sharing or payment abuse | C9.1 |
| Before payout | Identity verification, sanctions screening, payout setup and tax onboarding through the payout provider | C10.1 |
Keep every agreement inside SideShift. Off-platform work falls outside the guarantee, and section C13 bars taking SideShift-sourced work off the platform without written approval. Put the 30 day claim window on your calendar the day a campaign ends, since a late claim is excluded.
The SideShift withdrawal fee, in detail
SideShift also sells its payout system to other companies, and its developer documentation describes how withdrawal fees work there. Each withdrawal carries a SideShift platform fee that depends on the payout rail, and a partner company can add its own markup on top. The rails it lists:
| Payout rail | What the docs say |
|---|---|
| Instant transfer | Arrives in minutes, US bank accounts |
| Next-day bank | Standard ACH, one to two business days |
| Crypto | USDC and other supported assets |
| Digital wallet | PayPal and Venmo |
| Bank wire | Domestic and international wires |
Those docs describe the product SideShift sells to other platforms. Treat the list as a map of what exists, then check which rails your own withdrawal screen offers and what each one costs before you confirm. The per rail fee amounts were not public on any page checked on October 23, 2026.
Two brand reviewers on Trustpilot, writing on August 8 and September 6, 2026, describe 5% to fund a wallet and 2% to 3% to move money out of it. Those are brand accounts of brand wallets. None of the creator reviews on the page gives a creator withdrawal percentage.
A practical rule for any app that holds your pay in a wallet: withdraw your first small payout the day it clears. You see the real fee and the real arrival time on a small amount, before a bigger balance depends on that rail.
Get paid to make UGC
Brands post paid jobs on the Socialync job board with the pay and the floor on the listing. Follower counts come from the accounts you connect, and average views from the posts you publish through Socialync. You see the jobs those numbers clear. Applying is free, and Socialync takes nothing from your pay.
What SideShift's terms say about your videos
SideShift's terms of service, effective October 17, 2026, set defaults that apply to every campaign unless the campaign contract says otherwise. These are the ones that shape a creator's pay and rights.
| Topic | Default in the terms | Section |
|---|---|---|
| Who you work for | An independent contractor of SideShift for each campaign, producing work for the brand | C2.1 |
| Brand review | The brand has 5 calendar days to accept or reject a video, and silence counts as acceptance | C5.2 |
| Revisions | Set by each campaign contract; unlimited revisions only if you agreed to them | C5.3 |
| Keeping the post up | Approved videos stay public on the required account for at least 3 months after the campaign or contract ends; removing one early can cost you pay | C6.1, C6.4 |
| Usage rights | Perpetual organic and paid media use, editing, Spark Ads, Meta partnership ads, and use of your name, image, voice, likeness and handle | C11.2 |
| Narrowing the rights | A contract term overrides the default, for example a 90 day usage period | C11.3 |
| Your portfolio | You can usually show a released video in your portfolio | C11.5 |
The usage rights row matters most for pay. The default licence covers paid ads from your handle, forever, and becomes irrevocable once you are paid. Rate guides price paid usage and whitelisting as add-ons on top of the video fee, and UGC usage rights shows what each licence typically adds. Section C11.3 puts the job of negotiating a shorter usage period on you, before you accept. A $9 video with a perpetual paid licence and a $9 video licensed for organic use only are different deals, so read the contract for the usage period first.
Under the 5 day review rule, a brand that goes quiet has accepted your video. Under the 3 month rule, a fresh campaign account has to keep its campaign videos public for at least 3 months after the campaign ends, so plan to keep that account active.
Is SideShift free? What SideShift Pro costs
Joining is free. The App Store lists the app as free with in-app purchases, and the creator FAQ says SideShift keeps the platform free for creators.
The paid layer is SideShift Pro. The App Store listing sells it as "Unlimited job applications", "Early access to top brand deals", "Premium creator visibility" and "Priority access to high paying gigs". The listing does not say how many applications a free account gets.
In-app purchases shown on the App Store page, checked October 23, 2026:
| Item | Prices listed |
|---|---|
| SideShift Pro | $9.99 and $79.99 |
| Pro Monthly | $19.99 |
| Pro Annual | $49.99 and $59.99 |
| Annual Access | $29.99 and $49.99 |
| SideShift Premium | $0.99 |
The store page does not say which period each price covers, so check the in-app screen for the exact price and renewal terms before you buy.
Is SideShift Pro worth it?
Measure it against SideShift's own median. Pro Monthly at $19.99 costs about two to three median videos a month at $7 to $9 each. If you are already landing work and running into a free application limit, three extra median videos a month cover it.
If brands are passing on you, more applications to jobs that each draw 284 applicants will change less than a sharper profile. Fix the samples first. The UGC portfolio template shows how to lay out samples a brand can scan fast, and how to become a UGC creator without followers walks through five spec videos that match real briefs.
Who can join: countries, students and new creators
Countries
SideShift's creator FAQ: "We currently support creators based in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia." It says it is working to open the marketplace to more countries. If you live anywhere else, the app is closed to you for now.
Students
SideShift started as a campus marketplace and still reads like one. Most testimonials on its creator page come from college students describing work that fits around a class schedule, and the App Store description lists "Campus marketing jobs", "Paid internships" and "Event staff roles" next to UGC work.
Check these before you sign up as a student:
- Age. Section 1.2 of SideShift's terms requires you to be at least 18 and says the service is not available to minors, "including with parental or guardian consent." A 17 year old college freshman does not qualify, and SideShift may ask for proof of age.
- Country. The creator FAQ lists the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, and the terms require your actual city and bar a false location (C1.2).
- Identity. The terms require your legal name as your display name, your real city, your date of birth and a real photo of you. AI avatars and shared accounts can get you suspended (C1.2, C1.5).
- Taxes. You work as an independent contractor and owe the tax on what you earn (C2.3, C10.3). SideShift's plans page says "1099s and W-9s handled." Income is taxable whether or not a form arrives, and the IRS gig economy tax center explains what to report.
New creators
The hardest reports come from people starting at zero. A September 18, 2026 App Store review from a brand new creator says sample videos could not be added to the profile without linking a past paid brand deal, and that the workaround in the app's own training video no longer works. A May 28, 2026 Trustpilot review says brands never reply.
Next to the 284 applications median, the picture is consistent: SideShift's applicant pool rewards creators who already have a delivery record or a strong sample reel. Build both before you apply, here or anywhere else.
SideShift Reddit threads: how to read them
"sideshift reddit" and "side shift reddit" draw about 1,440 US searches a month between them, almost four times the searches for "sideshift reviews". Reddit blocks the automated research tools used for this post, so no Reddit thread is quoted here. Run each thread you read through five filters:
- Check the date against the version history. SideShift shipped a new withdrawal flow and in-app identity checks on September 19, 2026, had moved creator payouts to Whop by May 2026, and its current terms took effect October 17, 2026. A withdrawal complaint from 2025 may describe a system that is gone.
- Split creators from brands. "Too expensive" from a brand on a $299 a month plan tells a creator nothing about getting paid.
- Look for a country. Creators outside the US, Canada, the UK and Australia will report being shut out, which matches SideShift's stated rules.
- Look for numbers. A post that names the amount, the payout rail and the days it took is worth ten posts that say "they pay" or "they don't."
- Watch for referral codes. SideShift's referral page pays recurring credit for brands you introduce, with examples of $155 to $500 a month per brand. A post that praises SideShift and carries a referral code has a financial stake. So does any review written by a competing platform, this one included.
How to check any UGC app before you sign up
The same ten checks work on SideShift, on Socialync, or on any app that wants your time and your videos.
- Find the company. An App Store seller name, a terms page and a named founder. An app with none of the three is a risk before you read anything else.
- Learn who pays you. The brand directly, or the platform from a wallet. Both models work. You need to know which one you are signing up for.
- Find every fee on your side. Withdrawal fees, paid tiers, application fees. The FTC's consumer advice on job offers says honest employers will never ask you to pay to get a job. An optional paid tier with extra features is common. A mandatory fee to apply at all is the red flag.
- Check your country before you build a profile. Job access and payouts often stop at a border.
- Ask where the post goes. Your own account, a fresh campaign account, or a file the brand posts. Each one pays differently and builds something different for you.
- Read the usage rights before you film. Organic only, paid ads, or forever. UGC usage rights shows what each one adds to a rate, and the contract template shows how to write it down.
- Know how a dispute ends. Who decides, how long it takes, and what happens to the money while they do.
- Never buy the product first. A deal that asks you to pay now and get reimbursed later puts your money at risk. Reimbursement, gifted or paid deals explains why.
- Find the delete button before you connect anything. SideShift's terms say you can delete your account through its settings, subject to active campaigns and money still owed (section 16.2), and five Trustpilot reviewers say they could not. On any app, find account deletion, social account disconnection and bank removal in settings before you hand those details over.
- Test a small withdrawal early. The first payout tells you the real fee and the real speed.
For the longer list of patterns, see 12 red flags in UGC deals.
The checklist, applied to two apps
| Check | SideShift, as SideShift publishes it | Socialync job board |
|---|---|---|
| Company | SideShift Corporation, founded 2024 | Socialync, a social media scheduler that opened a UGC job board on November 1, 2026 |
| Cost to join | Free; optional Pro in the app from $9.99 | Free to apply, with no cap on applications; a free account works 1 job at a time, a paid plan from $20 a month works 5 |
| Countries | US, Canada, UK and Australia | Creators in most countries (a short sanctions list is blocked); in-app payment for US creators only |
| Who pays you | SideShift releases the brand's wallet funds after approval | The brand pays you directly |
| Fees on your pay | Withdrawal fees, amounts not published | Socialync takes nothing; Stripe's processing fee applies on the US in-app rail |
| Where the post goes | "Often" a fresh account in the campaign's niche | Organic jobs: your own connected account, published through Socialync. Ads jobs: a video file the brand runs |
| Stats brands see | Profile, handles and links to top videos; Instagram and TikTok account connection since Sept 2026; "Checked views" on tracked posts | Followers from your connected account; average views from posts you publish through Socialync, read from the platform API |
| Brand review | 5 calendar days; silence counts as acceptance | 7 days per draft round; silence never counts as approval; unlimited revisions |
| Usage rights | Default in the terms: perpetual organic and paid use, including Spark Ads and partnership ads, unless the contract narrows it | Follow the deal type and sit on the listing: organic jobs license organic use, ads jobs license paid use; the licence runs 12 months unless the brand sets another term |
| Payment protection | A written Creator Payment Guarantee for contracts signed through SideShift, claimed within 30 days; funds sit in the brand's wallet until approval | None. Socialync holds no money and guarantees no payment; the job keeps a record of delivery and payment |
| Tax forms | "1099s and W-9s handled" | Socialync files no tax forms for you |
How the Socialync job board handles pay and stats
Socialync's UGC job board opened November 1, 2026. Here is how a job runs from the creator side, in order.
- Connect your accounts and apply free. Applying costs nothing and has no cap. A free Socialync account holds one job at a time, and any paid plan, from $20 a month, holds five at once.
- See only the jobs you qualify for. Each brand sets a qualification floor: countries, languages, and per platform minimum followers and minimum average views. Creators below the floor never see the job. Follower counts come from your connected account, and average views come from the posts you publish through Socialync, read from the platform API. No screenshots, no self-reported numbers. A platform where you have not posted through Socialync yet shows as unmeasured. How hiring works on Socialync has the detail.
- Read the terms before you apply. Pay, the pay structure (on organic jobs: flat, per post, flat plus a view bonus, or CPM with a cap), usage rights and deadlines all sit on the listing. The contract is generated from those fields and signed by both sides.
- Post from your own account. On organic jobs you publish the deliverable through Socialync on your own account, on any of eight platforms, and it attaches to the job as a live post. Disclosure labels, such as TikTok's paid partnership toggle and Instagram's paid partnership label, switch on for campaign posts automatically. Ads jobs deliver the video file instead, and the brand runs it from its own ad account.
- Revise until approved. Revisions are unlimited, and the brand has 7 days to rule on each draft. Silence never counts as approval.
- Delivery gets confirmed. The brand confirms delivery, or it confirms itself after 14 days of brand silence.
- The brand pays you directly. US creators are paid on Socialync's pay page through their own Stripe account, and Stripe's processing fee comes out of that charge. Creators elsewhere settle with the brand directly, and Socialync verifies the delivery. Socialync takes nothing from creator pay either way.
Two mechanics speak to the complaints in the tables above. Applications a brand leaves unanswered for 14 days close on their own, and creators see how quickly a brand answers before they apply. And reimbursement deals are banned: any free product is shipped by the brand, and your deadline starts when it arrives.
Socialync has gaps you should weigh. The board is new, so it has no track record of paid jobs yet. Socialync holds no money and offers no payment insurance. It files no tax forms. Creators outside the US settle with brands on their own. Brands reach you by posting jobs or by inviting you by your exact handle, and there is no creator directory to browse.
Marketplace participation is 18+ on both sides. See open jobs at socialync.io/ugc-jobs, or read how the creator side works at socialync.io/ugc.

One note on each:
- Trybe UGC pays on ad performance plus any retainers or bonuses a brand arranges, and some brands add flat fees, per its FAQ. Commission on an approved video starts once the brand runs it as an ad. Its iPhone app had 4.92 stars from 5,182 ratings on October 23, 2026, and Google Play lists its Android app with 10K+ downloads, though its FAQ still calls Android coming soon.
- Billo pays per video, with creator pay built into the brand's price, and creators can list organic posting and partnership ads as paid extras.

Who SideShift suits
SideShift fits you if you are 18 or older, live in the US, Canada, the UK or Australia, want volume work with view bonuses, are happy posting on fresh campaign accounts, and want the platform to hold the money until approval and handle tax forms. Most testimonials on its creator page come from students fitting the work around classes.
Look at other options first if you live outside those four countries, want a per video rate closer to what published rate guides report for a single deliverable, or want paid work to grow your own account.
Still deciding whether the work is worth it at all? Is UGC still worth it in 2026 looks at demand, saturation and pay across the whole category.
Frequently asked questions
Is SideShift legit for students?
Yes, for students who are 18 or older and based in the US, Canada, the UK or Australia. SideShift's terms close the service to anyone under 18, even with a parent's consent. It started as a college campus marketplace, and most of its creator testimonials come from students. Expect a median of $7 to $9 a video by SideShift's own figure, hundreds of applicants per job, and income you owe tax on.
Does SideShift actually pay creators?
SideShift reports more than $10 million paid to creators in the 30 days before September 26, 2026, and its App Store rating was 4.82 from 30,334 ratings on October 23, 2026. Some creators on Trustpilot report stuck withdrawals or unpaid work. Withdraw a small amount early to test the rail and the fee.
Does SideShift guarantee payment?
Its terms of service include a "Creator Payment Guarantee" (section C8) for pay under a contract signed through SideShift. You file a nonpayment dispute within 30 days, SideShift reviews it for up to 10 business days, and off-platform work, late claims and rejected work are excluded. SideShift may also hold a payout for up to 180 days if it suspects fraud.
Is SideShift free for creators?
Joining and applying are free. SideShift charges small fees on bank withdrawals, with amounts unpublished, and sells an optional Pro subscription in its app, with Pro Monthly at $19.99, for unlimited applications and earlier access to deals.
What is the SideShift withdrawal fee?
SideShift's creator FAQ calls them "really small fees on bank withdrawals" and publishes no amount. Its developer documentation describes a platform fee per payout rail across instant transfer, next-day bank, crypto, PayPal and Venmo, and bank wire. Check your withdrawal screen before you confirm.
Is SideShift the same company as SideShift.ai?
No. SideShift at sideshift.app is a UGC creator app run by SideShift Corporation. SideShift.ai is a crypto swap service run by a separate company. Each has its own Trustpilot profile, so check the domain before you read a review.
How does SideShift compare with a job board where brands pay you directly?
SideShift pays you from a brand-funded wallet, handles tax forms, serves four countries and often has you post on fresh campaign accounts. On the Socialync job board, organic jobs post from your own accounts, you see only jobs whose floor you clear, and the brand pays you directly while Socialync holds no money.
Check the app before you give it your time
