UGC Apps: 10 Best for Creators in 2026

The UGC apps worth a creator's time in 2026 are SideShift, Trybe, Billo, Insense, JoinBrands, Collabstr, Backstage, TikTok One, Instagram's creator marketplace and Socialync. Three things separate them: who pays you, how much comes out of your pay (from nothing up to 20%), and whether you need followers to get in.

Every fact below comes from the company's own page, help center or App Store listing, or from a named report, checked on October 23, 2026, with the link next to it. Fees and country lists change, so read the date before you rely on a number. The list is grouped by how each app pays you, with no ranking, and nothing on this page is a promise of what you will earn.

One disclosure first. I'm Jack Vitick (LinkedIn, X), and I built Socialync, the last app on this list. Its entry uses the same format as the other nine, weak spots included.

UGC apps for creators compared at a glance

The first table covers the money: who sends it, what comes off the top, where it sits before you can withdraw it, and how it reaches you.

App Who pays you What comes out of your pay Where the money waits How it reaches you
SideShift SideShift, from the brand's wallet No job fee; small bank withdrawal fees Your SideShift wallet, after approval Withdraw to your bank
Trybe Trybe, on each brand's program terms Nothing Charged to the brand through Trybe Stripe Connect, $0 withdrawal fee
Billo Billo, a set amount per approved task Nothing; Billo covers transfer fees Your Billo account Stripe, weekly (US, Canada, UK)
Insense The brand, through Insense No creator fee stated Frozen on Insense's account until approval Your Insense wallet
JoinBrands The brand, through JoinBrands 20% on regular jobs (15% on Creator Pro) Held until the brand approves PayPal, weekly on free accounts
Collabstr The brand buys a package you list 15% transaction fee Held by Collabstr until the order completes PayPal, Cash App, Venmo and others
Backstage Whoever posted the job Subscription to apply, from $24.99 a month Set by each listing Set by each listing
TikTok One TikTok, or the brand directly No fee listed Depends on the project In TikTok, or from the brand
Instagram creator marketplace Agreed with the brand No fee mentioned by Meta Not described by Meta Not described by Meta
Socialync The brand, directly Nothing; Stripe's fee on in-app payments Never held by Socialync US: your own Stripe account. Elsewhere: from the brand

The second covers who gets in, plus each app's US App Store rating.

App Creator countries Age Follower minimum App Store rating (US, Oct 23, 2026)
SideShift US, Canada, UK, Australia 18+ None stated 4.82 from 30,334
Trybe Not stated; payouts in 170+ countries Not stated "Followers don't matter" 4.92 from 5,182
Billo US, Canada, UK 18+ None 4.69 from 1,914
Insense 22 countries in its FAQ Not stated 1,000 Instagram followers, 500 median TikTok views 4.66 from 3,127
JoinBrands US, Canada, UK, Germany, Australia Legal adult age None stated 4.59 from 884
Collabstr 35+ countries Not stated None stated 4.86 from 614
Backstage Per listing Per listing Per listing 4.73 from 18,884
TikTok One Where it has launched 18+ 1,000+ to join projects Inside TikTok
Instagram creator marketplace The US plus 18 markets named in Meta's 2024 rollouts 18+ No public number Inside Instagram
Socialync Anywhere outside sanctioned regions 18+ Set per campaign by the brand 4.73 from 15

Most run as both an app and a website, so "UGC websites for creators" means the same companies. TikTok One and Instagram's marketplace live inside their own apps.

How UGC apps pay creators: four models

The payment model decides whether the money exists before you film, and who you chase when a payout runs late.

The app holds the brand's money and pays you out

SideShift, Insense, JoinBrands, Collabstr and Billo work this way. The brand pays the platform, the platform holds the money, and you get paid after the brand approves your work. The money exists before you film. The tradeoff is a wallet in the middle, with its own withdrawal schedule and, on some apps, withdrawal fees.

You earn commission when the brand runs your video as an ad

Trybe is built on this. Brands run your submissions as Meta ads, and you earn on ad performance plus any flat fees, retainers or bonuses the brand sets.

Read one line of Trybe's brand terms before you count on commission: "Commission obligations accrue when attributable results occur." An approved video the brand never launches earns no commission on a commission-only program. UGC deals vs affiliate marketing compares commission pay with a flat rate.

You pay to apply

Backstage is free to browse and sells a subscription that opens unlimited applications: $24.99 a month or $199.99 a year on October 23, 2026, about $16.67 a month on the annual plan. Each job's pay is set by whoever posted it, so the subscription pays off only if the jobs you book cover it.

Two other apps sell an optional upgrade on top of a free account. SideShift Pro, $19.99 for Pro Monthly on the App Store, lists unlimited job applications as its first perk. JoinBrands Creator Pro comes with a paid Creator Academy membership and cuts its platform fee from 20% to 15%, which saves $50 on every $1,000 of regular job earnings.

The brand pays you directly

On Socialync the brand pays you with no platform account in the middle. TikTok One's help center says creators on creator marketing projects are paid "either online by TikTok or offline by you", meaning the brand. Meta's announcement of the Instagram marketplace describes no payment flow at all.

No wallet and no platform cut. In exchange you rely on the brand paying on the agreed terms, so the contract and a clean delivery record matter more. The free UGC invoice template helps when you bill a brand yourself.

What a $500 job leaves you with

The same $500 job, run through each published fee rule. Payout method fees from PayPal or your bank sit on top where they apply.

App Fee taken from your $500 Reaches you before payout method fees
JoinBrands, regular job $100 (20%) $400
JoinBrands, Creator Pro $75 (15%) $425, plus the membership cost
Collabstr $75 (15%) $425
SideShift $0 job fee $500, minus the withdrawal fee
Trybe $0 creator fee $500
Insense No creator fee stated $500 as negotiated
Socialync, US card payment in the app $0 to Socialync $485.20 after Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢
Socialync, paid outside the app $0 to Socialync $500, minus your payment method's fee

Billo pays a fixed amount per task, so it has no row here. The card rate comes from Stripe's pricing page: 2.9% plus 30 cents per domestic card payment.

The 10 UGC apps, grouped by who pays you

Apps that hold the brand's money and pay you out

SideShift

SideShift UGC lives at sideshift.app. The crypto exchange at sideshift.ai is a different company.

Who pays you and how. Brands fund a wallet. SideShift's creator FAQ says you get paid through SideShift after each campaign, with funds released to your creator wallet within a few days. SideShift says it charges brands and keeps the platform free for creators, apart from small fees on bank withdrawals.

Paid extras. The iOS app sells SideShift Pro, listed on the App Store at $19.99 for Pro Monthly and from $49.99 for Pro Annual. Its first listed perk is unlimited job applications.

Who qualifies. Creators based in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia, 18 or older per its terms of service. No follower minimum is stated. Your profile works like a common application: social handles plus links to your best videos.

Where the work goes. The FAQ says many brands prefer creators to build fresh accounts in the campaign's niche. Others pay for ad content or for posts on an existing page.

Numbers SideShift publishes. Its creator FAQ puts creator earnings at $200 to $2,000 a month plus performance bonuses of $1 to $4 per 1,000 views. Its homepage FAQ, written for brands, says the median account pays $7 to $9 a video over the last 90 days, and the median job collects 284 applications in its first 48 hours. Read together, they point to small per video payments and stiff competition for each job.

Rating. App Store 4.82 from 30,334 ratings, checked October 23, 2026.

Fits: creators in its four countries who are happy to film many small jobs, sometimes on a fresh account.

Insense

Who pays you and how. You negotiate your price with each brand. Once you are hired, Insense's creator page says the payment is taken from the brand and frozen on Insense's account. After approval it moves to your Insense wallet in the app. The page describes a free app with no hidden fees.

Who qualifies. A portfolio of UGC videos, at least 1,000 Instagram followers and 500 median TikTok views, with 1% engagement or more. Insense reviews your profile "to ensure your statistics are real". The FAQ lists 22 countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, much of the EU, New Zealand and Singapore, while a graphic on the same page says 35+. If your country is missing from the FAQ list, ask Insense before you build a profile.

Where the work goes. Content-only UGC, posts on your Instagram or TikTok, product seeding, Meta partnership ads, TikTok Spark Ads, affiliate links and TikTok Shop.

Their advice. Brands usually choose within 5 to 10 business days, and Insense tells creators to aim for at least 20 applications to land one job.

Rating. App Store 4.66 from 3,127 ratings, checked October 23, 2026.

Fits: creators past 1,000 followers who want UGC and paid posting on one app.

JoinBrands

Who pays you and how. The money is held when a campaign is approved and released to your JoinBrands wallet when the brand approves your content. JoinBrands' fee page sets a 20% platform fee on regular job earnings and performance bonuses, taken before funds reach your wallet. Creator Pro, which comes with a paid Creator Academy membership, drops that to 15%. Express jobs, tips and product reimbursements carry no fee.

Getting your money out. PayPal only, per its help center. Free creators withdraw once a week; Creator Pro withdrawals are unlimited. Its withdrawal article says PayPal payouts can take up to 7 business days.

Who qualifies. Creators based in the US, Canada, the UK, Germany or Australia. Its country article warns that accounts from elsewhere get flagged and payouts may fail. Its registration article says you must be of legal age in your country. New creators start at Level 1; retainers open from Level 2.

Where the work goes. Content-only files, or content plus a post on your TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Amazon, with an ad code passed to the brand. Some jobs ask you to buy the product and get reimbursed. Reimbursement vs gifted vs paid deals covers what to check before you front money.

Rating. App Store 4.59 from 884 ratings, checked October 23, 2026.

Fits: creators in its five countries who want product jobs now, retainers once they reach Level 2, and TikTok Shop affiliate work.

Collabstr

Collabstr's live site blocks automated requests, so these facts come from its FAQ as archived on October 2, 2026.

Who pays you and how. You list packages at your own prices, and brands buy them. You have 72 hours to accept a new order before it expires. Collabstr collects the brand's payment and holds it until the order is complete. Brands get up to 72 hours after you submit to ask for a revision or open a dispute. Payouts run through Dots to methods including PayPal, Cash App and Venmo.

What comes out of your pay. No upfront cost, and a 15% transaction fee when you make a sale.

Who qualifies. Collabstr verifies each creator's identity and audits accounts for fake followers. It supports creators in more than 35 countries.

Where the work goes. Packages for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch, or UGC files.

Rating. App Store 4.86 from 614 ratings, checked October 23, 2026.

Fits: creators with an audience who want to set their own rates.

Billo

Who pays you and how. Billo charges the brand per video and pays you a set amount per approved task. Billo's payout article says creators in the US, Canada and UK are now paid through Stripe to a bank account every week, and that Billo covers the transfer fees. Its creator page still describes PayPal twice a month, so expect the newer Stripe flow.

Who qualifies. You must live in the US, Canada or UK and be at least 18. No experience or social media presence is required. You upload a short intro video to join, and creators who complete 14 videos with strong stats move up to a Premium tier.

Where the work goes. A standard job is a video uploaded in the app. Two optional add-ons, each priced by you: posting on your own Instagram or TikTok for 30 days, and partnership ads run from your handle for 30 days.

Rating. App Store 4.69 from 1,914 ratings, checked October 23, 2026.

Fits: beginners with zero followers who want to film and hand over files.

An app that pays commission on ad results

Trybe

Trybe UGC is the creator app at jointrybe.com, run by Trybe Tech Inc. Several other companies use the name.

Who pays you and how. You join brand programs, submit videos, and brands run the approved ones as Meta ads. Trybe's FAQ says you are paid on ad performance plus any retainers or bonuses the brand arranges. Payouts go to your bank through Stripe Connect with $0 withdrawal fees.

What comes out of your pay. Nothing. Trybe calls itself "free for creators, forever". Brands pay Trybe 1.5% of attributed sales, 1.25% of ad spend, or 1.5% of creator earnings on flat-rate payments.

Who qualifies. Trybe says "followers don't matter". Brands invite you from a Discovery feed, or you request to join their programs. No creator country list is given; payouts support 170+ countries.

Where the work goes. The brand's Meta ads, run as whitelisted or partnership ads. Whitelisting vs Spark Ads vs partnership ads explains what each format does with your handle.

Rating. App Store 4.92 from 5,182 ratings, checked October 23, 2026. Google Play lists the app with 10K+ downloads the same day, though Trybe's FAQ still says Android is coming soon.

Fits: creators without a following who make ad-style videos and accept pay tied to ad results.

Marketplaces inside TikTok and Instagram

TikTok One

TikTok One is where TikTok's creator marketplace now lives. In the app it still shows as Creator Marketplace inside TikTok Studio, or you search "TikTok One".

Who pays you and how. TikTok's creator overview lists "flat fee payments and revenue sharing options provided by TikTok". Its solutions article tells brands that creators are paid "either online by TikTok or offline by you". No creator fee is listed.

Who qualifies. Per TikTok's sign up article, updated July 2026: TikTok One must have launched in your country or region, you must be at least 18, and you must meet the Community Guidelines and Branded Content Policy. Joining projects takes "at least 1,000+ followers" plus project rules.

Where the work goes. Your TikTok posts, often turned into Spark Ads. You can list starting rates on your profile.

Fits: TikTok-first creators past 1,000 followers.

Instagram creator marketplace

Who pays you and how. Meta's February 2024 announcement says creators review the rate for each opportunity inside Instagram. It mentions no fee and does not describe how money moves, so agree payment terms with the brand in writing.

Who qualifies. You join from your professional dashboard. Meta's announcement invited creators and brands in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Japan, India and Brazil to join the US. Social Media Today's May 2024 report says creators must be over 18 and follow Instagram's branded content and monetization policies, and that brands in ten more markets, including Germany, France, Spain and Mexico, gained access. Meta publishes no single follower number.

Get paid to make UGC

Brands post paid jobs on the Socialync job board with the pay and the floor on the listing. Follower counts come from the accounts you connect, and average views from the posts you publish through Socialync. You see the jobs those numbers clear. Applying is free, and Socialync takes nothing from your pay. The board opens November 1 at 12:01 PM ET. Set up your profile now so you can apply on day one.

Where the work goes. Your Instagram posts, which brands can amplify as partnership ads.

Fits: creators with an Instagram professional account who want brand messages inside Instagram.

A job board you pay to apply on

Backstage

Backstage is a casting site that carries UGC and influencer gigs next to acting and modeling jobs, with its own guide on booking UGC jobs on Backstage.

Who pays you and how. Whoever posted the job, on the terms in the listing.

What it costs you. The App Store listing says the app is free to download and browse, and a subscription opens unlimited applications. Listed prices on October 23, 2026: $24.99 a month, $74.99 for 3 months, $119.99 for 6 months, $199.99 a year.

Rating. App Store 4.73 from 18,884 ratings, checked October 23, 2026.

Fits: on-camera talent who already use Backstage.

A board where the brand pays you directly

Socialync

Who pays you and how. The brand pays you directly. In the US, the brand pays on Socialync's pay page and the charge lands in your own Stripe account, with Stripe's processing fee taken from it. Everywhere else, the brand pays you outside the app and Socialync verifies the delivery. Socialync takes nothing from creator pay; brands pay Socialync a fee on their own invoice.

Who qualifies. 18 or older, anywhere outside Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk. Each brand sets its own floor per campaign, so there is no single follower minimum.

What it costs you. Applying is free and unlimited. A free account works one job at a time; any paid Socialync plan, from $20 a month, works five at once.

Where the work goes. Your own accounts on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky. Ads deals run on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

Weak spots. The board opens November 1, 2026 at 12:01pm Eastern, the day this list was published, so it starts with no payout history and no case studies. Brands cannot browse or search creators. You get seen by applying, by a brand you applied to or worked with before, or by a brand that types your exact handle to invite you.

Rating. App Store 4.73 from 15 ratings, checked October 23, 2026. Web, iOS and Android.

Fits: creators who post on their own accounts and want terms on the listing before they apply. The full flow is in the step-by-step section below, and the creator sign up is at socialync.io/ugc.

UGC platforms for beginners with no followers

Five of the ten let you in with zero followers: Billo (no social presence required), Trybe ("followers don't matter"), SideShift and JoinBrands (no minimum stated), and Collabstr, though brands buying a posting package will look at your audience.

Three set a number. Insense wants 1,000 Instagram followers and 500 median TikTok views. TikTok One wants 1,000+ followers for projects. On Socialync each brand sets a floor per campaign, and every field in it is optional, so a campaign can ask for no followers at all.

The check follows the deliverable. When you hand over a file, the brand judges the video: Billo's sign up is a short intro video, and SideShift's FAQ says many brands want a fresh account built for the campaign. When the post goes on your own feed, the brand is paying for reach, so the account gets checked: Insense adds a 1% engagement rate to its follower rule, and Collabstr audits for fake followers and engagement before it lists you.

Pick your starting platform with views in mind. Socialync reads no per post view counts from X, LinkedIn or Bluesky, so a view floor, a view bonus or per view pay can never be met with a post there. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube views do come through, which makes them the places to build a measured average while you take content-only work on the other apps.

How to become a UGC creator without followers is the 30 day plan for this stage. How many followers you need for a brand deal covers what changes as your account grows. Every application rides on sample videos, so build a UGC portfolio first.

Which UGC apps pay you to post on your own account

Most searches for apps that pay you to post come down to where the video lives: your feed, or someone else's.

App Files only Post on your own account Ad from your handle
SideShift Yes Some jobs; many use fresh accounts Brands can run winners as ads
Trybe Submissions Not described Meta whitelisted or partnership ads
Billo Standard job Add-on, Instagram or TikTok, 30 days Add-on, 30 days
Insense Yes Instagram or TikTok Partnership ads, Spark Ads
JoinBrands Content-only jobs TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Amazon Ad code with posting jobs
Collabstr UGC packages Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch Not listed as a feature
Backstage Per listing Per listing Per listing
TikTok One No TikTok Spark Ads
Instagram creator marketplace No Instagram Partnership ads
Socialync Ads deals (file) Organic deals on 8 platforms Whitelisting on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok

A post on your feed and an ad run from your handle are separate rights, and each deserves its own price. UGC usage rights: how much to charge has the numbers, and get paid to post on Instagram and TikTok covers the platform payouts outside these apps.

Apps like SideShift and Trybe, matched to what you need

Each line below is a rule SideShift or Trybe sets, followed by the apps on this list that handle it another way.

SideShift takes creators in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Insense's FAQ lists 22 countries, Collabstr more than 35, and JoinBrands adds Germany to SideShift's four. TikTok One and Instagram's marketplace run wherever they have launched. Socialync takes creators anywhere outside the sanctioned regions, and outside the US the brand pays you directly.

SideShift pays a bonus per 1,000 views. Its creator FAQ puts performance bonuses at $1 to $4 per 1,000 views. JoinBrands pays performance bonuses too, with its 20% fee taken from them. A Socialync organic job can pay a flat fee plus a bonus when the post passes a set view count, or a rate per 1,000 views up to a cap, both settled on views read from the platform API at the end of the window.

SideShift and Trybe both move your pay through the platform. SideShift releases funds to your creator wallet, and Trybe charges the brand and pays you through Stripe Connect. Billo, Insense, JoinBrands and Collabstr route the money the same way. Socialync and TikTok One's offline option have the brand pay you itself.

Trybe's Android app is newer than its FAQ. The FAQ says Android is coming soon, while Google Play lists Trybe Creators from Trybe Tech Inc. with 10K+ downloads (checked October 23, 2026). Billo, Insense and Collabstr link Android apps from their own sites, and Socialync runs on the web, iOS and Android.

Trybe pays commission on ads run from the brand's account. Socialync's whitelisting deals pay commission only, with no base at delivery, while the brand runs your post as an ad under the licence, and the post can go out from your own feed first. Commission on new deals has no cap. Trybe's rule applies here too: commission only arrives if the brand runs the ad.

SideShift vs Trybe puts those two side by side in full.

How the job board floor works, from sign up to payment

This is the Socialync board, step by step, as it works on November 1, 2026.

1. Make a free account and connect your social accounts. Verify your email (an Apple Hide My Email relay address is refused), confirm you are 18 or older on the Marketplace Terms screen, then pick 1 to 3 niches and the languages you post in.

2. Your numbers come from the platforms. Follower counts come from your connected account, and average views come from the posts you publish through Socialync, read from the platform API. No screenshots, no self-reported numbers. A platform with no Socialync posts in the last 30 days reads as unmeasured, so post through Socialync for a few weeks before you apply to a view floor. The free plan posts 5 times a month with no card. More on verified stats.

3. The brand sets a floor. Countries, languages, and minimum followers and average views per platform. Each field is a hard filter. If you do not clear the qualification floor, the job never appears on your board and you cannot apply, so you never spend an application on a job you were never going to get.

4. The terms are on the listing. Pay, usage rights, licence length, exclusivity and deadline are set before you apply. Organic jobs pay flat, per post, flat plus a view bonus, or per 1,000 verified views with a cap. Ads deals pay commission only, with no base at delivery.

5. Apply. Applying is free and unlimited, and up to 6 portfolio pieces ride along with each application. Applications left unanswered for 14 days close on their own. A free account holds 1 job at a time; a paid plan holds 5.

6. Sign. The contract is generated from the listing and signed by both sides. US creators finish Stripe onboarding before signing.

7. Send drafts. Revisions are unlimited, up to 10 candidate videos per round, and the brand has 7 days to rule on each round. If the brand goes quiet, you may walk away with your video and no mark on your record.

8. Post through Socialync. You publish from your own account. On TikTok and Instagram, Socialync switches on the platform's paid partnership label for you and refuses to post the job privately or as an Instagram Story. On the other platforms, put a clear disclosure such as #ad in the caption yourself. The live post attaches to the job. The brand confirms delivery, or it confirms itself after the posts have been live and verified for 14 days.

9. Get paid by the brand. Payment falls due on the listing's terms, by default 14 days after delivery is confirmed. US creators are paid on Socialync's pay page into their own Stripe account; a payment over $1,000 comes by US business bank transfer. Elsewhere the brand pays you directly, and you confirm receipt.

10. Rate each other. Ratings are blind. Neither side sees the other's until both have rated or 14 days pass, so nobody rates in reply.

A brand that ships you product sends it free. Reimbursement deals, where you buy first and get paid back, are banned on the board.

Browse what is open at socialync.io/ugc-jobs, or create a free creator account and connect your accounts so your numbers are reporting before you apply.

How to check a UGC app before you hand over your time

Four checks, ten minutes, before you build a profile anywhere.

Read the rating count with the date. A score means little without the count behind it. SideShift shows 4.82 from 30,334 App Store ratings and 2.0 from 17 reviews on Trustpilot, both checked October 23, 2026. Small samples swing hard, so read recent reviews on each site.

Find where your money waits. Wallet, PayPal, Stripe, or straight from the brand. Then find the withdrawal schedule before your first job.

Find the creator fee in writing. JoinBrands puts its 20% in its help center and Collabstr its 15% in its FAQ. If you cannot find a fee, ask support before you start.

Know what a paid upgrade buys. SideShift Pro, JoinBrands Creator Pro and Backstage all charge you. Paying for an app you chose is fine. Paying a stranger to get a job is a red flag, and UGC creator scams and red flags lists eleven more.

Keep your own paperwork on every app. The UGC contract template covers the clauses to check, and every paid post needs a clear disclosure per the FTC's Disclosures 101 for social media influencers.

Best UGC platforms for creators, by the work you want

You want to film videos and never post them. Billo pays a set amount per approved task and asks for no social presence. JoinBrands content-only jobs pay into your wallet after its 20% fee. Insense UGC jobs pay what you negotiate, once you clear its 1,000 follower rule. SideShift has brands that pay for content to run as paid ads. Socialync's ads deals pay for a file the brand runs from its own Instagram, Facebook or TikTok ad account.

You want pay tied to sales. Trybe pays on ad performance plus any flat fees the brand adds. Socialync's ads deals pay a share of attributed sales or a set amount per sale while the brand runs the ad, with no base at delivery. JoinBrands and Insense carry affiliate and TikTok Shop work. On every one of them, commission depends on the brand spending on ads or the link selling, so weigh the base pay on its own.

You are a micro influencer who wants paid posts on your own feed. Collabstr lets you list a priced package per platform. Insense and TikTok One open at 1,000 followers. Instagram's marketplace puts you in front of brands in its markets. Socialync shows you only the jobs whose floor you clear, and the post goes out from your own account. These are the brand deal apps where your audience counts.

You want steady monthly work from one brand. JoinBrands opens retainers, a posting schedule and a monthly budget with one brand, once you reach Level 2. Trybe pays retainers when a brand adds one to its program. On Socialync, a brand that has already paid you for a job can offer you a private retainer: a monthly guarantee against commission, where each 30 day cycle pays whichever of the two is larger. SideShift and Billo both pitch repeat work with brands that rehire you.

You are on-camera talent first. Backstage, at $24.99 a month or $199.99 a year, if you apply often enough to cover it.

Before you set a price on any of them, run your numbers through the UGC rate calculator and read UGC rates: how much UGC creators make. If you are still deciding whether to start, read is UGC creator work still worth it in 2026 first.

Questions creators ask about UGC apps

Are UGC apps free for creators?

Most are free to join. JoinBrands takes 20% of regular job earnings (15% on Creator Pro), Collabstr takes 15% of each sale, and Backstage charges a subscription to apply from $24.99 a month. SideShift is free apart from small withdrawal fees and sells an optional Pro upgrade. Trybe, Billo and Insense state no creator fee, and Socialync takes nothing from creator pay.

Which UGC app is best for beginners?

For zero followers, Billo, Trybe, SideShift and JoinBrands set no follower minimum. Start with content-only jobs, where the brand judges your video, and grow your own feed at the same time.

Do UGC apps take a cut of your pay?

Some do. JoinBrands deducts 20% before funds reach your wallet, and Collabstr takes 15% when you make a sale. SideShift, Trybe and Socialync bill the brand and deduct no fee from the pay agreed for the job, though SideShift adds small fees on bank withdrawals. Billo pays a set amount per task and covers the transfer fees. Payment processors can still take a share, such as Stripe's 2.9% plus 30 cents on US card payments.

Is there an app like SideShift outside the US?

SideShift takes creators in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Insense lists 22 countries, Collabstr more than 35, and TikTok One and Instagram's marketplace run where they have launched. Socialync accepts creators anywhere outside sanctioned regions, with brands paying non-US creators directly.

Can you use UGC apps if you are under 18?

Mostly no. SideShift, Billo, TikTok One, Instagram's marketplace and Socialync require you to be 18, and JoinBrands requires the legal adult age where you live. Under 18, build a portfolio and your own feed until you qualify.

How do UGC apps check your followers and views?

Insense reviews your connected profile "to ensure your statistics are real". Collabstr verifies your identity and audits your accounts for fake followers and engagement. SideShift says it tracked about 2.7 million creator posts created in the 90 days to September 7, 2026, and its brand plans list "Checked views (no fake counts)". On Socialync, follower counts come from your connected account and average views from posts you publish through Socialync in the last 30 days, read from the platform API.

Pick two apps and apply this week

You do not need all ten. Pick two whose payment model you understand and whose country and follower rules you already meet. Then apply in volume: Insense tells creators to aim for at least 20 applications to land one job, and SideShift's median job draws 284 applications in its first 48 hours.

If posting on your own account fits how you work, sign up at socialync.io/ugc, connect the accounts you post from, and publish through Socialync so your numbers are measured before you apply. The board opens November 1, 2026 at 12:01pm Eastern, and every job shows its pay, rights and floor before you spend an application.

Brands reading this can post a campaign from socialync.io/hire-ugc-creators, or compare fee models side by side on the UGC platform alternatives pages.
