What does Pinned Comment mean?

A pinned comment is a comment the creator fixes to the top of a post's comment section, where every viewer sees it first. Creators use pins to add context or corrections, answer the inevitable question, link products, highlight a funny fan comment, or seed the conversation's tone.

Pins are the creator's one guaranteed message slot after publishing. Common plays: correcting a mistake without deleting the video, answering "what's the song?" before it gets asked four hundred times, dropping the recipe or product details, and pinning a viewer's great joke to reward the community.

TikTok allows pinning multiple comments, YouTube allows one, and Instagram allows up to three. Strategically, the pin extends the content — a strong pinned comment can carry the punchline, the CTA, or the part two announcement. Pinning a question ("should I make this a series?") also farms replies, which feeds engagement signals.
