Just Show Up โ The Opportunity Will Follow
Ernest's content philosophy is dead simple: show up, and the rest figures itself out. He doesn't wait for the perfect idea or the perfect day. He posts whatever's on his mind โ week-by-week life updates, advice from friends, what's scaring him, what's exciting him.
"I think the most important thing for me is just to show up and the opportunity will present itself."
Suck at It for 90 Days
His biggest video? A closet recording about Skate 3, filmed at 9 PM after a long day of work when he didn't even want to make a video. 10K views. His takeaway: you can't predict what pops off, so the only strategy is consistency.
"You just got to suck at it for 90 days. And then you can look behind you and say โ all right, I showed up for 90 days. I can show up for 90 more."
Nostalgia Is a Superpower
That Skate 3 video worked because it hit people in their core memories. The comments exploded โ people couldn't help but talk about a game they grew up loving. Ernest's lesson: content that touches something people already feel deeply about gets them talking, and the algorithm follows the conversation.
"It just gets people talking about really good memories. The comments were immediately boom, boom, boom โ algorithm took and ran with it."
Connect, Don't Perform
Ernest isn't trying to be an authority figure. He's not selling a lifestyle or flexing results. He's just a guy who likes doing cool stuff and wants to bring people along. That's his brand โ encouragement and relatability over clout.
"I'm just a dude at the end of the day who loves watching people succeed. We're never as far away from each other as we seem. All it takes is one conversation."
If You're Unsatisfied, Make One Decision Today
For anyone stuck between what's expected of them and what they actually want, Ernest keeps it real: make a plan, take the risk, but don't be reckless about it. You don't have to burn the boats.
"If you're unsatisfied with your life, make one decision today that will lead you to your dream life. Create a plan, create measurements you can hit. And sometimes you're going to put in the hours and not see the results โ but as long as you put in the hours, it's going to work out."
